Little League Baseball Memorial Museum Introduction
Do you remember the event in 1968, when the Hongye Little League team from Yanping Township, Taitung, defeated the world champion Kansai Little League from Wakayama, Japan? That victory not only made Hongye Village, a remote Bunun settlement, famous, but also sparked a baseball frenzy across the nation, leading to the formation of numerous baseball teams at all levels, and significantly contributed to Taiwan's future success as a baseball powerhouse. To commemorate the importance of the Hongye Little League team in the history of baseball in Taiwan, local enthusiasts lobbied for the construction of the "Hongye Little League Memorial Hall" on the campus of Hongye Elementary School, which officially opened to the public in 1992.
