Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley Introduction
Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is located upstream of Luming Creek, serving as a shared water source for Taoyuan Village and Luye Township. Named for the butterflies that once danced in the sky, it became a summer paradise for local tribal people, but environmental degradation has diminished its beauty. Thanks to the restoration efforts by local residents and the Taitung County Government, Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley has once again become an ecological haven in the Luming Valley. The seasonal ecological scenery of Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is distinctive throughout the year, with summer being the best time to visit. Tourists can wade into the crystal-clear stream, listen to the delightful sounds of cicadas and birds, take photos with swarms of butterflies, and observe the rich flora and fauna. Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is only a 15-minute drive from Luye Highland and 30 minutes from Taitung City, making it suitable for a one-day trip in conjunction with attractions like the Chihshang Ranch or Taitung Native Botanical Garden. Visitors can closely observe cute animals, learn about the native plants of Taiwan surrounding us, and enjoy playful activities in the water for a refreshing, nature-oriented eco-tour.
