Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley Introduction
Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is located upstream of Luming Creek, serving as a shared water source for Taoyuan Village and Luye Township. It was named for the multitude of butterflies that once danced in the sky and has been a summer haven for local tribespeople; however, environmental degradation has diminished its beauty. Through the restoration efforts of local residents and the Taitung County Government, Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley has once again become an ecological paradise along Luming Creek. The seasonal ecological scenery of Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is distinct, with summer being the best time to visit. Tourists can wade into the crystal-clear creek, enjoy the pleasant sounds of cicadas and birds, take photos with flocks of butterflies, and observe the area's rich flora and fauna. Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is only a 15-minute drive from Luye Plateau and 30 minutes from Taitung City, making it suitable for a day trip combined with attractions like Chulu Ranch and the Taitung Indigenous Plant Garden, where visitors can observe cute animals, learn about Taiwan's native plants, and enjoy a joyful experience of playing and cooling off in nature, embarking on an eco-tour that connects with both mountains and water.
