Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley Introduction
Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is located upstream of Luming Creek, serving as a shared water source for Taoyuan Village and Luye Township. It was named for the countless butterflies that once danced through the air, and it became a summer playground for local tribes. However, due to environmental degradation, its beautiful scenery has diminished. Thanks to the restoration plans by local residents and Taitung County Government, Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley has once again become an ecological paradise along the Luming Valley. The seasonal ecological scenery of Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is unique each season, with summer being the best time to visit. Visitors can wade into the crystal-clear stream, listen to the pleasing sounds of cicadas and birds, take photos with swarms of butterflies, and observe the rich flora and fauna. Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is only a 15-minute drive from Luye Highland and 30 minutes from Taitung City, making it a suitable stop for a day trip along with first deer ranch and the Taitung Indigenous Application Botanical Garden. Here, visitors can observe cute animals, learn about native Taiwanese plants living around us, and enjoy a joyful and refreshing experience in nature, making it a perfect ecological getaway.
