Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley Introduction
The Butterfly Valley in Taoyuan Village is located upstream of the Luming Creek, serving as a shared water source area for Taoyuan Village and Luye Township. It was named for the countless butterflies fluttering in the sky, and it used to be a summer paradise for the local tribespeople. However, due to environmental destruction, its beauty diminished. Thanks to the rehabilitation plans by local residents and the Taitung County Government, the Butterfly Valley in Taoyuan Village has once again become an ecological paradise by the waters of the Luming Creek Valley. The seasonal ecological scenery in the Butterfly Valley varies with each season, and summer is the best time to visit. Visitors can wade into the crystal-clear stream, listen to the melodious calls of cicadas and birds, take photos with swarms of butterflies, and observe the rich biodiversity. The Butterfly Valley in Taoyuan Village is only a 15-minute drive from Luye Highland and a 30-minute drive from Taitung City, making it suitable for a one-day tour combined with nearby attractions like the Chihlu Ranch and the Taitung Indigenous Botanical Garden. Visitors can closely observe cute animals, learn about the native plants of Taiwan that live around us, and enjoy jumping, playing in the water, and having an ecological trip that connects them with nature.
