Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley Introduction
Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is located upstream of the Luming Creek, serving as a common water source for Taoyuan Village and Luye Township. It was named for the multitude of butterflies that used to flutter in the area and has been a summer paradise for nearby indigenous tribes. However, environmental destruction has diminished its beauty. Thanks to the restoration plans initiated by local residents and Taitung County Government, Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley has once again become an ecological paradise along the Luming Creek Valley. The seasonal ecological scenery of Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley has its own unique features, with summer being the best visiting season. Tourists can wade in the crystal-clear stream, listen to the pleasant sounds of cicadas and birds, pose with groups of butterflies, and observe the rich flora and fauna. Taoyuan Village Butterfly Valley is only a 15-minute drive from Luye Highland and 30 minutes from Taitung City, making it suitable for a day trip when combined with attractions like Initial Deer Ranch and Taitung Native Plants Application Garden. Visitors can closely observe adorable animals, learn about native Taiwanese plants surrounding them, and enjoy running, jumping, and swimming—making it a delightful eco-tour in nature.
