Horseback Adjustment Pool Water Conservancy Park Introduction
The Mabei Adjustment Pond is located northwest of Longtian Village, near the Gaotai Tea Area to the north and the Longtian Pineapple Area to the south. The pond draws water from the Luyuan Main Irrigation Canal; it is 115 meters long, 105 meters wide, and 8 meters deep, covering an area of about 1.2 hectares with a total water storage capacity of approximately 60,000 tons. This is currently the largest artificial irrigation farm pond in Taiwan. Surrounded by mountains, the area features crisp air and clear skies, with a stream created using stone-based ecological construction methods. The water flows clear, and the ecological pools and waterfront areas created with pavilions and flowers offer an unprecedented refreshing landscape. Combined with the water's reflections and mountain views, along with nearby scenic tea gardens, cycling paths, and paragliding opportunities, visitors to the Luyuan Main Irrigation Canal Mabei Adjustment Pond Water Conservation Park can experience a seamless three-dimensional travel landscape. In addition to the Luyuan and Beinan Main Irrigation Canals, Taitung also has ten other beautifully scenic water facilities, including Chishang Canal, Guanshan Main Irrigation Canal, Luyuan Canal, Wuling Community, Beinan Upper Canal, Shigu Adjustment Pond, Zhiben Canal, Danan Canal, and Shemagan Canal. This makes it an ideal itinerary for enjoying an intellectual and sensory journey in Taitung, often referred to as the "back garden of Taiwan."
