Yongan Yulongquan Trail Introduction
Yulong Spring is a natural spring in Yong'an Community, which thrives under abundant water resources, creating a rich natural ecology and forest scenery. The local people regard it as a "sacred spring." Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival at noon, all villagers gather to collect the spring water, becoming one of the local customs in Luye Township. The Yulong Spring Ecological Trail is 1,100 meters long, divided into three major sections. The first section is the Sheng'an Temple staircase trail, which connects Yong'an Sheng'an Temple to Yulong Spring, featuring a staircase with 108 steps. Along the way, there are the Yulong Spring spring area, wetland ecological area, a single-plank bridge, and a water play area, with a total length of about 250 meters. The second section is the Yulong Spring riverside trail, which includes a stream ecology area, soil and water conservation educational area, and a parent-child water play area, with the trail running along the stream and paved with stone and concrete paths, spanning about 550 meters with rich forest scenery. The third section is the elevated shaded staircase trail, featuring 370 steps. Walking through the Yulong Spring Ecological Trail continuously takes approximately 50 minutes, providing a cool experience in the mountains, with diverse plant scenery, abundant water sources, and clear stream water nurturing rich natural ecology, where butterflies flutter around, making it a paradise for birds. Along the shallow streams flowing along the mountainside, the clean environment is home to lush watercress, and under the protection of the watercress, tree frogs, crabs, and freshwater shrimp can be seen busy foraging. Various mud crabs and frogs reside here, with the dominant species being the two-colored mud crab, along with the gray-shelled mud crab, Cai's mud crab, and Li's clear stream crab, as well as various frog species including the white-jawed tree frog, brown tree frog, and Radhou's red frog, as well as the black Montane little rain frog and the Japanese tree frog that loves hot springs. To ensure that animals and insects that love to cross the road are not disturbed by tourists, the children from Yong'an Elementary School ingeniously paved the road with tires, painting the tires and nicknaming it the "Flower Wheel Trail," which is quite unique. Visitors can also traverse the muddy path without getting their feet wet, leaving a deep impression of the children's care and love. The Yulong Spring Ecological Trail features a water resource platform with various landscape designs and ecological pools made using traditional techniques, providing places to rest and closely observe and appreciate the rich natural ecology. Along the way, there are resting benches, and after completing the staircase trail, visitors can reach the elevated sightseeing tea garden. At the end of the trail is the large observation pavilion called "Mingpu" set up by the Valley Scenery Management Office, where one can enjoy a distant view of the valley's scenery, perfectly concluding this beautiful journey.
