Yong'an Yulongquan Trail Introduction
Yulong Spring is a natural spring located in the Yong'an community. With abundant water sources nourishing the area, it has developed a rich natural ecosystem and forest landscape. The local residents regard it as a "spiritual spring." During the Dragon Boat Festival every year, villagers gather to collect the midday water, making it one of the local customs of Luye Township. The Yulong Spring Ecological Trail spans 1,100 meters and is divided into three main sections. The first section is the Sheng'an Temple Stairway Trail, connecting Yong'an Sheng'an Temple to Yulong Spring, featuring a staircase with 108 steps. Along the way, there are areas of Yulong Spring's water flow, wetland ecology, a single-plank bridge, and a water play area, covering approximately 250 meters. The second section is the Yulong Spring Creekside Trail, which offers scenic views of the creek ecology, soil and water conservation education area, and a family water play area. The trail runs alongside the creek with stone slab and concrete paths, surrounded by rich vegetation, and stretches about 550 meters. The third section is the Elevated Forest Shade Stairway Trail, which has a staircase with 370 steps in the middle. Completing the Yulong Spring Ecological Trail takes approximately 50 minutes, providing a refreshing experience while walking through the mountains, with rich plant landscapes, abundant water sources, clear streams nurturing a diverse natural ecology, and butterflies fluttering about, making it a paradise for birds. Shallow streams flow along the mountainside, with clean environments fostering the growth of water cress. Under the protection of water cress, tree frogs, crabs, and freshwater shrimp can be seen foraging. Various species of crabs and frogs reside here, with the dominant group being the two-colored crab, along with species such as the gray-armed crab, Cai's crab, and Lim's清溪蟹, as well as multiple frog species, including the white-throated tree frog, brown tree frog, and various other species like the Radu's red frog and the black-mottled rain frog. To ensure that the insects and animals crossing the road are not disturbed by visitors, the children from Yong'an Elementary School ingeniously used tires to pave the path, painting them and affectionately nicknaming it the "Flower Wheel Trail," making it quite distinctive. Visitors can cross through mud without getting their feet wet, leaving a profound impression of the children's care and love. The Yulong Spring Ecological Trail features a water resource platform with various scenic and ecological pools made using traditional techniques, allowing visitors to rest and closely observe and learn about the rich natural ecology. Along the trail, there are benches for resting. Upon completing the stairway, visitors will reach the elevated tea garden, and at the end of the trail is a large viewing pavilion called "Tea Garden," set up by the Long Valley Scenic Area Management Office, where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley scenery, marking a perfect conclusion to a beautiful journey.
