Luan Mountain Tribal Area (Forest Museum) Introduction

The Luanshan Tribe is located at the southern end of the Coastal Mountain Range on Dulan Mountain, home to the currently most well-preserved mixed forest of Ficus and Camphor trees, and is the living area of the Bunun people. The village has no fences, buildings, or electric facilities, resembling a natural forest museum akin to the movie Avatar. The thick, intertwining aerial roots of the banyan trees continuously spread and expand, replacing the dying native branches, as if the trees are capable of moving. Therefore, the banyan trees here are also referred to as "walking trees."
