Jiamuzu Bay Introduction
Kamodzi Bay is located at the southern end of Donghe Township and is a traditional living sea area for the Dulan Amis tribe, where tribal members hold various ceremonies and engage in hunting. In the Amis language, 'Kamod' means to catch and obtain. The bay is named Kamodzi Bay due to its calm waters and abundant ecological resources, making it easy to catch fish. The Amis people regard this place as a sacred site left by their ancestors. Due to the rocky shoreline, the natural reef structures provide a rich and diverse habitat for marine life, creating a vibrant underwater world. The clear and unpolluted seawater allows visitors to observe the graceful figures of marine creatures right by the shore. When passing through the coastal highway on Provincial Highway 11, it's worthwhile to stop and listen to the sound of the waves, feel the sea breeze, gaze at the boundless horizon, or wait for the sunset, immersing yourself in the emotions brought by the Taitung coastline.
