Jiamuzui Bay Introduction
Kamodzi Bay is located at the southern end of Donghe Township and is a traditional marine area for the Dulan Amis tribe, where tribespeople hold various ceremonies and engage in hunting. In the Amis language, 'Kamod' means to catch and acquire. Due to the calm sea conditions and abundant ecological resources in the bay, it is easy to catch fish, hence the name Kamodzi Bay. The Amis people regard this place as a sacred site left by their ancestors. Because Kamodzi Bay has a rocky shoreline, the natural reef structure provides a rich and diverse habitat for marine life, forming a vibrant underwater world. The clear, unpolluted waters allow for the observation of the elegant figures of marine creatures right from the shore. When traveling along Taiwan Route 11 Coastal Highway, it is worthwhile to take a moment to stop, listen to the sounds of the sea, feel the sea breeze, gaze at the boundless sea surface, or wait for the sunset, immersing oneself in the emotions brought by the Taitung coastline.
