Museum of Biodiversity Conservation Education Introduction

There is a treasure in Jiji Township, which is the "Biodiversity Research Institute." To promote local ecological education in Taiwan, the Biodiversity Research Institute has a "Conservation Education Center" that features static displays, detailing Taiwan's ecosystems, endemic flora and fauna, and environmental conservation issues, and it regularly hosts various themed exhibitions. The education center is equipped with interpreters who provide accessible explanations to help the public better understand conservation concepts. Additionally, it offers services such as ecological film viewing, multimedia presentations, conservation literature, and data, making it one of the important places for conservation education in our country. Outside the center, there is a large ecological education garden and a butterfly garden with a variety of planted species. The ecological education garden deliberately creates an environment similar to a forest to attract birds and insects to inhabit; within the garden, there is also an aquatic plant ecological pool, where visitors can relax in a pavilion and enjoy the sight of flocks of mallards swimming leisurely, as if they were in a jungle. Here, not only can one gain intellectual insights, but also relieve physical and mental tension. Furthermore, the conservation center has a wildlife rescue station, which has rescued over 3,000 wild animals since the 1999, and there are raptors undergoing rehabilitation in the education garden; a walk along the ecological trail allows visitors to get close and greet these precious birds that are usually hard to see!
