Yongxing Big Banyan Tree Introduction

The Yongxing Large Camphor Tree, regarded as a sacred tree by the locals, is an exceptional landmark in Yongxing Village, Shuili Township, Nantou County, with an impressive age of 300 years. The circumference of the tree reaches 6.2 meters, and its height is 26 meters. This grand tree often attracts local residents who gather to chat, relax, and play, making it a center of faith for the community, and it's worth exploring the charm of this sacred tree. The old camphor tree cluster is made up of three mother and child trees, and there is a temple dedicated to the large tree. Beneath the tree, villagers have established a Tudi Gong (Earth God) temple. Many people come here to pray for love and couples visit to seek blessings for harmonious and peaceful families. During temple fair events, performances of traditional Taiwanese operas and puppetry are held under the tree, creating cherished memories for the older villagers.
