Shuili Bicycle Path - Shuili Riverside Line Introduction
The Shuili River originates from the mountainous areas of Sun Moon Lake, Toushe, Chonggui, and Wucheng. The valley is accessible via the Jiji Railway to the Secret Garden in Checheng. Checheng was once a major hub for Taiwan's timber industry. A bike path runs along the western embankment of the Shuili River upstream to Checheng and downstream to Shuiyun Bridge and Shuili Riverside Park, covering a distance of about 4 kilometers with a gentle slope in the urban waterfront area. The route towards Checheng poses slight challenges, and riding a bicycle allows visitors to enjoy the traditional timber industry of Checheng, the scenic views along the Shuili River, and experience the simple local life in Shuili.
