Baxian Mountain Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Baxianshan Forest Recreation Area is located on an alluvial terrace where the Jiabao River flows into the Shihwen River. During the Japanese colonial period, it served as a lumber mill and, along with Taiping Mountain in Yilan and Alishan in Chiayi, is recognized as one of Taiwan's three major logging areas, focusing primarily on species such as cypress, incense cedar, and fir. After logging ceased in the 1980s, it gradually transformed into a recreational and tourism area. The park is rich in ecology and boasts beautiful forest landscapes, offering multiple trails, water facilities, forest classrooms, and waterfall observation decks, making it a perfect place for families to enjoy a forest bath together.
