Fire Mountain Forest Ecological Education Center Introduction
The Huoyan Mountain Forest Ecology Education Center is a three-story above-ground and two-story underground landscape building, showcasing the unique natural characteristics of Huoyan Mountain in both its exterior and interior design. The center is located in the administrative center of Sanyi Township, Miaoli County and officially opened on April 16, 2005. Since August 2009, it has been managed by the Biodiversity Research Center of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, commissioned by the Hsinchu Forest District Office of the Forestry Bureau. The center aims to integrate its existing exhibition facilities with high-quality course planning to serve as an educational venue for the general public and schools regarding Taiwan’s geological landscapes and forest ecology. It also serves as an intellectual attraction for visitors to the Miaoli area, raising public awareness of environmental resources and encouraging active participation in conservation actions to achieve the sustainable operation of environmental education.
