Fire Mountain Forest Ecology Education Center Introduction
The Huoyan Mountain Forest Ecological Education Center is a three-story building above ground and two stories below ground, featuring a unique landscape architecture that reflects the distinct natural characteristics of Huoyan Mountain both in its exterior and interior design. The center is located in the administrative center of Sanyi Township, Miaoli County, and officially opened on April 16, 2005. Since August 2009, it has been managed by the Biodiversity Research Center of Pingtung University of Science and Technology, commissioned by the Hsinchu Forest District Office of the Forestry Bureau. The center aims to combine its existing exhibition facilities with high-quality course planning to offer a teaching venue for the general public and schools at all levels to learn about Taiwan's geology, landscape, and forest ecology. It also serves as an educational site for visitors to Miaoli, raising public awareness of environmental resources and encouraging participation in conservation efforts to achieve sustainable environmental education.
