Rail Bike Revitalization of the Old Mountain Line: Experience the Beauty of Sanyi Mountain City The Old Mountain Line, completed in 1908, is regarded as a masterpiece of modern railway craftsmanship. After ceasing operations in 1998 due to cost issues, it has remained inactive. However, its rich railway technology, forest scenery, and cultural landscape inspired the county government to preserve and revive this historic site. They utilized the old railway system to retain the integrity of the Old Mountain Line and created Taiwan's first "Railbike Old Mountain Line," allowing visitors to experience its beauty in a low-carbon, environmentally friendly way. This initiative earned certification as an "International Slow City" in Italy! Safe and Thoughtful Passenger Facilities Each carriage accommodates four people and is equipped with GPS positioning, audio guidance services, and an emergency rescue notification system. There are also specially designed boarding and alighting steps, handrails, dashboards, storage racks, cup holders, sunshades, and transparent PS rain panels. In addition to human-powered pedaling, electric assistance is provided, allowing for easy enjoyment of the scenic views. The route is a round trip of 12 kilometers from Shengxing Station to Liyu Lake, passing five beautiful spots along the Old Mountain Line!
