The Railway Bicycle Revitalizing the Old Mountain Line Experience the Beauty of Sanyi Mountain City The Old Mountain Line was completed in 1908 and is regarded as the "extreme aesthetic of modern railway craftsmanship." After ceasing operations in 1998 due to operational cost issues, it has not been restored. However, the rich railway technology, landscape, and cultural scenery along the route aim to preserve and revive this historical site. The county government has repurposed the old railway system, maintaining the integrity of the Old Mountain Line, and created Taiwan's first "Railbike Old Mountain Line Railway Bicycle." This allows visitors to experience the beauty of the Old Mountain Line in a low-carbon and eco-friendly manner, and it has been awarded the Italian "Cittaslow" certification! Thoughtful and Safe Riding Facilities Each carriage can accommodate 4 passengers and is equipped with GPS positioning, audio-guided explanation services, and an emergency rescue notification system. Additionally, the design includes special boarding and alighting steps, handrails, dashboards, storage racks, cup holders, sunshades, and transparent PS rain shields. Remarkably, in addition to the human-powered pedaling, electric equipment is also available, so there's no concern about exhaustion, allowing for easy enjoyment of the scenery along the way. The journey covers a round trip of 12 kilometers from Shengxing Station to Liyutan, passing five scenic spots along the Old Mountain Line!
