Old Mountain Line Bicycle Trail Introduction
Railbike Revival of the Old Mountain Line Experience the Beauty of Sanyi Mountain City The Old Mountain Line was completed in 1908, hailed as the "pinnacle of modern railway craftsmanship." After ceasing operations in 1998 due to costs, it has been unable to resume service. However, its rich railway technology, forest scenery, and cultural landscape have prompted the county government to strive for historical preservation and revival by utilizing the old railway system. They retained the integrity of the Old Mountain Line and created Taiwan's first "Railbike on the Old Mountain Line," allowing visitors to experience its beauty in a low-carbon, eco-friendly manner through dynamic cultural preservation. This initiative has even earned Italy's "International Slow City" certification!
