Rail Bike Revitalizes the Old Mountain Line and Experience the Beauty of Sanyi Mountain City The Old Mountain Line was completed in 1908 and is celebrated as "the pinnacle of modern railway craftsmanship." It has not been operational since 1998 due to financial issues. However, the rich railway technology, forest scenery, and cultural landscapes along the route have prompted the county government to pursue the preservation and revitalization of this historical site. They have retained the integrity of the Old Mountain Line railroad system and created Taiwan's first "Railbike Old Mountain Line," allowing visitors to experience the beauty of the Old Mountain Line in a low-carbon and environmentally friendly way, earning the certification as an "International Slow City" from Italy! Thoughtful Safety Features for Passengers Each carriage accommodates four passengers and is equipped with GPS positioning, voice-guided tour services, and an emergency rescue notification system. Specially designed features include boarding and alighting steps, handrails, dashboards, storage racks, cup holders, sunshades, and transparent PS rain panels. Furthermore, in addition to the manual pedaling, there is an electric assist feature, so there’s no need to worry about getting tired while enjoying the scenic views along the way. The journey is a round trip of 12 kilometers from Shengsing Station to Liyu Lake, passing by five beautiful sights of the Old Mountain Line!
