Tongluo Sky Bicycle Path Introduction
The Tongluo Bicycle Path is located in Jiu Hu Village, Tongluo Township, Miaoli County, and is also known as the Tongluo Jiu Hu Bicycle Path. The circular route spans approximately 8 kilometers, built along the ridgeline of Jiuhua Mountain, returning to the starting point. It passes several major attractions, including the Daxingshan Temple, the Tiao Yan Ancient Trail, and the Hu Tou Kan Ancient Trail, featuring a distinctive ancient suspension bridge and a scenic bridge that spans the valley. A notable feature of the bicycle path is that about 5 kilometers combine with the tea plantation access roads, offering expansive views of tea fields and farmlands. The highest bicycle path in Taiwan, the Tongluo Bicycle Path includes the so-called highest “Sky Bicycle Path” located between the Hu Tou Kan Ancient Trail and the Tiao Yan Ancient Trail. This bicycle path, which crosses the valley, is only open to bicycles and pedestrians. A uniquely designed observation deck is equipped with bike parking spaces, allowing visitors to easily park their bikes and enjoy the scenery above, especially during the tung flower season when the valley is filled with blooming tung flowers, resembling snow covering the mountain tops, making it exceptionally beautiful. “Admiring the sunset and sea of clouds along the bicycle path presents breathtaking scenery, making it perfect for families to come together. Strolling along the Jiu Hu Bicycle Path, enjoying flowers and fragrances, provides a leisurely and healthy weekend getaway with a touch of historic charm.”
