Xiangshan Confucius Temple Introduction
Built in the 27th year of the Guangxu period (1901 AD), during the time when the Japanese ruled Taiwan and actively sought to eradicate traditional culture, local enthusiasts established Yuheng Temple as a sanctuary. They also opened the Xiangshan Han Studies Academy and enshrined the spirit tablet of Confucius. In 1974, local gentry advocated for renovations, making the Confucius Temple independent. The Xiangshan Confucius Temple is located on a high slope, offering a distant view of the lush green plains of the Miaoli Basin, with a broad and magnificent perspective.
