Xiangshan Confucius Temple Introduction
Built in the 27th year of the Guangxu era (1901 AD), during the period of Japanese rule in Taiwan, which aimed to eliminate traditional culture, local aspirants established Yuheng Temple as a refuge, opened the Xiangshan Confucian Academy, and enshrined the spirit of Confucius. In 1974, local gentry advocated for renovations, making the Confucius Temple independent. The Xiangshan Confucius Temple is situated on a high slope, offering a distant view of the lush expanse of the Miaoli Plain, with an open horizon and majestic atmosphere.
