Xiangshan Confucius Temple Introduction
Built in the 27th year of the Guangxu era (1901 AD), during the Japanese rule in Taiwan which actively sought to eradicate our traditional culture, local intellectuals established the Yuheng Temple as a refuge and opened the Xiangshan Han Academy, dedicating it to the spirit of Confucius. In 1974, local gentry proposed renovations to separate the Confucian temple. The Xiangshan Confucian Temple is located on a high slope, offering a panoramic view of the lush fields of the Miaoli Basin, with an expansive and impressive sight.
