Xiangshan Confucius Temple Introduction
Built in the 27th year of the Guangxu era (1901), during the period of Japanese rule in Taiwan, when efforts were made to eliminate traditional Taiwanese culture, local dedicated individuals established Yuheng Temple as a refuge, and founded the Xiangshan Confucian Academy, dedicated to the worship of Confucius. In 1974, local gentry advocated for reconstruction, leading to the independence of the Confucian Temple. Xiangshan Confucian Temple is located on a high slope, offering a panoramic view of the lush fields in the Miaoli Basin, with an expansive and magnificent sight.
