Xiangshan Confucius Temple Introduction
Built in the 27th year of the Guangxu period (1901), during the Japanese rule of Taiwan, which actively sought to eliminate traditional Chinese culture, local patriots established the Yuheng Temple as a sanctuary and founded the Xiangshan Confucian Academy, enshrining the spirit of Confucius. In 1974, local gentry advocated for renovations, separating the Confucian temple. The Xiangshan Confucian Temple is located on a high slope, offering a distant view of the lush greenery of the Miaoli Basin, with an expansive and majestic vista.
