Xiangshan Confucius Temple Introduction
Built in the 27th year of the Guangxu era (1901 AD), during the period of Japanese rule in Taiwan, which actively sought to eliminate traditional culture, local individuals of ambition established the Yuheng Palace as a refuge and set up the Xiangshan Confucian Academy, dedicating it to the worship of the spirit of Confucius. In 1974, local gentry advocated for its reconstruction, making the Confucius Temple independent. The Xiangshan Confucius Temple is situated on a high slope, offering a distant view of the lush green fields of the Miaoli Basin, with a broad and majestic vista.
