Dahu Arts and Cultural Center Introduction
Zhuanglan is located at the southern end of Miaoli. Due to its favorable natural geographical environment, it became known as a hometown of fruits, especially recognized for its sweet and high-quality grapes, starfruit, citrus, and pears, which are famous throughout Taiwan. However, this area, which is home to over twenty thousand residents, lacks a suitable space for cultural performances. Moreover, changes in social structure and a gradual outflow of population have led to a crisis of cultural decline. In 1995, the Council for Cultural Affairs provided funding to enhance local performance facilities. With the cooperation of the township office, the "Zhuanglan Arts and Cultural Center" was established at the National Zhuanglan Experimental High School's Hongdao Building, featuring a performance hall that can accommodate 200 audience members and an exhibition hall. Although the center is not large, it is well-equipped for performances, providing a stage for locals to showcase their talents. Additionally, it frequently invites outstanding artists from various regions, ensuring that this two-story cultural center hosts a variety of performances including dance, theater, photography, music, and crafts, allowing the residents of Zhuanglan Township to immerse themselves in artistic activities.
