Zhaolan Arts and Cultural Center Introduction
Zhuolan is located at the southern tip of Miaoli. Due to its favorable natural geographical environment, it became a hometown of fruits in the early days, producing sweet and high-quality grapes, star fruits, citrus, and pears that are well-known in Taiwan. However, this place, with a population of over 20,000, lacks a suitable space for cultural performances. Furthermore, due to changes in social dynamics, the population has gradually flowed out, resulting in a crisis of declining local culture. In 1995, the Council for Cultural Affairs provided funding to enhance local performance facilities. With the cooperation of the town office, the "Zhuolan Arts and Culture Center" was established in the Hongdao Hall of National Zhuolan Experimental High School, featuring an auditorium that can accommodate 200 spectators and an exhibition hall. Although the Arts and Culture Center is not large, it is well-equipped with performance facilities, offering a stage for local people to perform freely. In addition, it often invites outstanding artists from various places, allowing this two-story arts center to host a variety of performance activities, including dance, theater, photography, music, and crafts, immersing the residents of Zhuolan Township in artistic experiences.
