Zhaolan Art and Culture Center Introduction
Zhuolan is located at the southern end of Miaoli. In the early days, due to its favorable natural geographical environment, it became a hometown for fruits, known for producing sweet and high-quality grapes, starfruits, citrus fruits, and pears, which are well-known in Taiwan. However, this place, with a population of over 20,000, lacks a suitable space for cultural performances. Additionally, changes in social structure have led to a gradual outflow of residents, posing a threat to local culture. In 1995, the Cultural Affairs Council provided a budget to enhance local performance facilities. In cooperation with the town hall, the "Zhuolan Cultural and Arts Center" was established at the Hongdao Hall of National Zhuolan Experimental High School, which includes a performance hall that can accommodate 200 audience members and an exhibition hall. Although the center is not large in area, it is well-equipped for performances, providing a stage for local people to showcase their talents. Furthermore, it frequently invites outstanding artists from various regions, allowing this two-story cultural center to host a variety of performances, including dance, theater, photography, music, and crafts, immersing the residents of Zhuolan Township in the nurturing environment of artistic activities.
