Dongshi Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Dongshi Forest Recreation Area covers an area of 225 hectares, featuring a rich variety of forest ecology and an elevation ranging from 500 to 700 meters. With a warm winter and cool summer, the landscape varies with each season, earning it the nickname of "the Yangmingshan of the East." Currently managed by the Changhua County Farmers' Association, Dongshi Forest Recreation Area offers opportunities for flower viewing, bird watching, firefly viewing, nature forest bathing, and is home to the largest physical training camp in Taiwan. With a management philosophy of "friendly and natural," it aims to establish Dongshi Forest Recreation Area as a natural tourism hub in central Taiwan, making it a great choice for visitors traveling to Taichung. The area also provides guided service personnel who, through engaging introductions, help visitors gain rich ecological knowledge while enjoying their tour. Additionally, there are numerous plant explanation boards within the area, making it an excellent place for tourists to absorb knowledge about forest plants while taking a stroll.
