Jinlong Kiln Introduction
Jinlong Kiln started with traditional pottery production, primarily focusing on items such as wine jars, water tanks, flower vases, and daily ceramics. Since its establishment over twenty years ago, Mr. Li Yiwu came to Taiwan from Fuzhou to start the business. The second generation, consisting of brothers Li Mingzheng, Li Zhaoqing, and Li Zhaochun, established Jinlong Kiln, which has now passed to the third generation, brothers Li Jinming and Li Rongguo. They continue to adhere to traditional methods, primarily producing handcrafted clay forms and shapes. The decorative ceramics industry that emerged in the 1960s has almost replaced traditional pottery. In recent years, the impact of industrial transformation has made it difficult for traditional pottery to find a space to survive. In order to ensure the sustainable operation of the family kiln, Jinlong Kiln, which originated from traditional water tanks and wine jars, has innovatively shifted to creating modern, appealing lotus tanks and tableware with unique Hakka design elements, as well as beautiful ceramic lamps. In this beautiful garden located in the deep mountains, visitors can personally experience the joy of working with clay. Through hand-throwing or hand-forming techniques, they can understand the traditional pottery-making process and create a unique piece of ceramic art.
