Jinlong Kiln Introduction
Jinlong Kiln started with traditional pottery, primarily producing items such as wine jars, water tanks, flower vases, and everyday ceramic goods. Established for over twenty years, it was founded by Mr. Lee Yi-Wu, who crossed the sea from Fuzhou to Taiwan. The business was taken over by the second generation—brothers Lee Ming-Xiao, Lee Zhao-Qing, and Lee Zhao-Chun—and has now passed to the third generation, Lee Jin-Ming and Lee Rong-Guo. They continue the tradition, primarily focusing on handmade pottery and shaping techniques. In the 1970s, the decorative ceramic industry surged, nearly replacing traditional ceramics, and in recent years, the impact of industrial transformation has made it difficult for traditional pottery to survive. To ensure the sustainable operation of their family business, Jinlong Kiln has sought breakthroughs and innovations, evolving from its original wine jars and water tanks to create modern and appealing lotus tanks, as well as tableware featuring unique Hakka design elements and beautiful ceramic lamps. In this beautiful garden located deep in the mountains, visitors can personally experience the joy of working with clay, learning about the traditional pottery-making process through hand-throwing or hand-building techniques, and creating a unique ceramic piece.
