Liou Clan Ancestral Hall of Pengcheng Introduction
Located in front of Ruihu Elementary School in Sihu Village, it primarily enshrines the founding ancestor En Kuan Gong and the ancestral deities. Additionally, it is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva and Caishen (God of Wealth). The Liu Clan Ancestral Hall was first established in the 25th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1760), making it 235 years old today. The ancestral hall occupies a vast area, with the Xihu River alluvial plain in front and rolling green mountains behind, presenting a grand atmosphere. The architecture is in the style of a Sanheyuan (a type of traditional Chinese courtyard), topped with green glazed tiles and adorned with swallow-tail ridges. Although it lacks intricate carvings, it reveals the simple and elegant style of the Hakka people.
