Liou Family Ancestral Hall in Pengcheng Introduction
Located in front of Ruihu Elementary School in Sihu Village, the temple is dedicated to the founding ancestor Enkuan and the deified ancestors of the Liu clan, alongside the Bodhisattva Guanyin and the Earth God. The Liu Clan Ancestral Hall was first established in the 25th year of the Qianlong reign (1760), making it 235 years old today. The ancestral hall occupies a vast area, with the Xihu River alluvial plain in front and continuous lush mountains behind, creating a grand atmosphere. The hall is built in the Sanhe courtyard style, topped with green glazed tiles and a swallow-tail ridge. Although it lacks elaborate carvings and paintings, it still reveals a simple and elegant style that reflects the Hakka people's serene and peaceful character.
