Pengcheng Liu Clan Ancestral Hall Introduction
Located in front of Ruihua Elementary School in Sihu Village, this temple is dedicated to En-Kuan Gong, the founding ancestor who came to Taiwan, along with the ancestral spirits of his descendants. It is also dedicated to Guanyin and the God of Wealth. The Liu Clan Ancestral Hall was initially constructed in the 25th year of the Qianlong reign (1760), making it 235 years old. The ancestral hall covers a wide area, with the Xihu River alluvial plain in front and lush mountains behind, creating a grand atmosphere. The hall is built in a Sanhe courtyard style, covered with green glazed tiles and featuring a swallow-tailed roof. Although it lacks intricate carvings and decorations, it reveals the simple and elegant style of the Hakka people.
