Maozai Pu Qingqian Temple Introduction
"Qingqian Hall" is located in Maozai Pu, Wuhu Village, Xihu Township, along the north side of Provincial Highway 119. It is the ancestral home of Mr. Zhang Qingxiu, the ninth township mayor of Xihu Township. "Qingqian Hall" was originally built during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, boasting a history of over a hundred years. It has undergone multiple renovations, with the most recent major repair occurring around the 43rd year of the Republic of China. Externally, it appears to be a spacious brick and tile Sanheyuan structure, but upon closer inspection, its layout, beams, columns, and altars exhibit a unique style that sets it apart from typical traditional Hakka residences. The entire structure is shaped like the Chinese character "昌" (chang), symbolizing prosperity and flourishing for the family. It is divided into a main hall, left and right side rooms, and two courtyards. Above the main entrance of the hall, the three large characters "Qingqian Hall" are prominently displayed, flanked by two ancient-looking stone pillars. The beams and brackets on the pillars are intricately carved, radiating an antique charm. "Qingqian Hall" features a grand layout, surrounded by verdant bamboo and trees, creating an elegant ambiance. Immersing oneself in this environment easily evokes a sense of nostalgia for the past, making it a truly worthy ancient building to be preserved.
