Maozai Pu Qingqian Di Introduction
"Qingqiandi" is located in Maozai Pu, Wuhu Village, Xihu Township, on the north side of Provincial Highway 119. It is the ancestral home of Mr. Zhang Qingxiu, the ninth township head of Xihu Township. "Qingqiandi" was initially built during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of over a hundred years. It has undergone numerous renovations, with the most recent major restoration around the 43rd year of the Republic of China. From the outside, it appears to be a spacious brick and tile sanheyuan (triad courtyard) building. However, upon closer inspection, its layout, beams and columns, and spirit tablets showcase a unique style that distinguishes it from typical traditional Hakka residences. The entire structure is shaped like the Chinese character "昌" (prosper), symbolizing the prosperity and flourishing of the family, and is divided into a main hall, left and right side rooms, and two courtyards. Above the main entrance of the hall are the three large characters "Qingqiandi," flanked by two ancient stone pillars. The dougong (bracket sets) and horizontal beams on the pillars are intricately carved and exude an antique charm. "Qingqiandi" has a majestic layout, surrounded by lush forests and bamboo, creating an elegant ambiance. Immersing oneself in this environment easily evokes nostalgic feelings, making it a truly worthwhile historic site to preserve.
