Wuguxi Cultural Village Introduction

Gong Hsun Ceramics Company is the predecessor of Wugu Culture Village, established during the peak period of decorative ceramics industry. In its early days, Gong Hsun Ceramics Company rented and renovated an abandoned Sanheyuan to create a workshop. Initially, it entered the ceramics industry by operating as an OEM for other large manufacturers, handling processes such as firing, repairing, pouring, painting, and even shipping on behalf of other factories, which lasted for at least two years. Gradually, it began to take orders independently and at times assisted other small family factories by forming alliances to share some orders. With economic development, its scale expanded. In the 1980s, as orders increased, the small workshop could no longer keep up, prompting the purchase of a new factory (the current location). The new factory upgraded from manual pouring to automatic pouring, and the square kilns (scove kilns) were replaced with tunnel kilns. Now, under the leadership of General Manager Xu Yonghuan, driven by a love for his hometown and a desire to preserve roots in Taiwan, Gong Hsun Ceramics Company focuses on sustainable development in the industry. It presents the cultural reliance and production of decorative ceramics in Miaoli, integrating leisure tourism and cultural heritage to establish "Wugu Culture Village." This village combines "tradition," "modernity," and "decorative ceramics," becoming a landmark and a tourist attraction in Miaoli. In the future, it aims to integrate the "decorative ceramics art," "Hakka cultural landscape," and "spirit of the five grains" into its cultural historical background, actively responding to future tourism demands. The company is dedicated to promoting products that are delicate, beautiful, and of high quality, creating new added value, shaping the high-quality image of Wugu Culture Village, and striving to become an internationally renowned brand with a vision for sustainable operations and a bright future.
