Wugu Cultural Village Introduction
Gong Hsun Ceramics Company is the predecessor of Wugux Cultural Village, established during the peak of the decorative ceramics industry. Initially, Gong Hsun Ceramics rented and renovated an abandoned Sanheyuan to create a workshop, entering the ceramics field through an OEM model for other major manufacturers. This included processes such as firing, refurbishment, slip casting, hand painting, and even shipping, which took at least two years. Later, they gradually began to take orders directly and assisted other small family factories by forming alliances to share some orders. With economic development, the scale expanded increasingly. In the 1980s, as the volume of orders grew, the small workshop became insufficient, leading to the purchase of a factory (current site), where the new facility upgraded from manual slip casting to automated processes, and the four-sided kiln ( shuttle kiln) was transformed into a tunnel kiln. Now, under the leadership of General Manager Hsu Yong-Huan, driven by a love for his hometown and the concept of preserving roots in Taiwan, the company aims for sustainable development of the industry, showcasing the mutual reliance model of decorative ceramics culture and production in Miaoli. They combine leisure tourism with cultural heritage to establish "Wugux Cultural Village," blending "tradition," "modernity," and "decorative ceramics art" into a landmark and tourism window for Miaoli. Looking ahead, they will integrate Miaoli’s "decorative ceramics art," "Hakka cultural characteristics," and the cultural and historical background of the "Wugux spirit" to actively meet future tourism demands, continuing to promote products with exquisite aesthetics and high quality, creating new added value, shaping the Wugux Cultural Village's premium image, and aiming to become an internationally renowned brand, ensuring sustainable operations for a bright future.
