Hemei Dao East Academy was established in the seventh year of the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty and is one of the more complete ancient academies still existing in Taiwan. In recent years, it has been restored, replacing beams and columns, and has regained its former appearance.

Dadong Academy Introduction

The He Mei Dao Dong Academy, a national historical monument, was established in the seventh year of the Xianfeng era (1857 AD), and is one of the more complete ancient academies still existing in Taiwan. In recent years, it has been restored, with new beams and pillars installed to restore its former appearance. The academy is located next to He Mei Junior High School and He Mei Elementary School. The central hall enshrines the deity Zhu Wengong and the statue of the God of Examinations, while the eastern wing is dedicated to the spirit tablets of individuals who contributed to the academy's renovations. The western wing is dedicated to the God of Wealth and Prosperity, and there is a large section made of the original weathered logs used during its initial construction. The courtyard is spacious and densely shaded with greenery, often frequented by people for recreation and relaxation during mornings and evenings.

Transportation Methods：Public Transport: Take the Changhua Bus from the Changhua Train Station towards Hemei, and get off at Hemei Station. Proceed along Zhongshan Road, turn left onto Ren'an Road at the market, and continue along the roundabout next to Hemei Elementary School along Heguang Road for about 200 meters to reach your destination.
