Lukang Longshan Temple Introduction
Lukang Longshan Temple was established during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The original site was located by the old port of Lukang (now Dàyǒu Street). In the 51st year of the Qianlong reign (1786), military official Chen Bangguang proposed to relocate Longshan Temple to its current site. The temple has undergone five renovations in the 60th year of the Qianlong reign (1795), the 9th year of the Daoguang reign (1829), the 2nd year of the Xianfeng reign (1852), the 11th year of the Showa era (1936), and the 75th year of the Republic of China (1986). In the 72nd year of the Republic of China (1983), Longshan Temple was designated as a first-class historical monument and is now a national historic monument.
