Lukang Longshan Temple Introduction
Lukang Longshan Temple was established in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, originally located by the old port of Lukang (now Dayou Street). In the 51st year of the Qianlong reign (1786), military officer Chen Bangguang proposed relocating Longshan Temple to its current site. During this period, it underwent renovations in the 60th year of Qianlong (1795), the 9th year of Dao Guang (1829), the 2nd year of Xianfeng (1852), the 11th year of Showa (1936), and the 75th year of the Republic of China (1986), totaling five renovations. In the 72nd year of the Republic of China (1983), Longshan Temple was designated as a first-level historic site and is now a national historic monument.
