Lukang Longshan Temple Introduction
Lukang Longshan Temple was founded in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, originally located at the old port of Lukang (now Dayou Street). In the 51st year of Qianlong's reign (1786), military official Chen Bangguang proposed relocating Longshan Temple to its current site. It has undergone five renovations in the 60th year of Qianlong's reign (1795), the 9th year of Daoguang's reign (1829), the 2nd year of Xianfeng's reign (1852), the 11th year of Showa (1936), and the 75th year of the Republic of China (1986). In the 72nd year of the Republic of China (1983), Longshan Temple was designated as a first-class historic site and is currently a national historic site.
