Lugang Longshan Temple Introduction
Lukang Longshan Temple was established in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, originally located by the old port canal of Lukang (now Dayou Street). In the 51st year of the Qianlong reign (1786), military official Chen Bangguang proposed relocating Longshan Temple to its current site. It has undergone five renovations in the 60th year of Qianlong (1795), the 9th year of the Daoguang reign (1829), the 2nd year of the Xianfeng reign (1852), the 11th year of the Showa era (1936), and in the 75th year of the Republic of China (1986). In the 72nd year of the Republic of China (1983), Longshan Temple was designated as a first-grade historic site. It is now a national historic site.
