Lukang Shih Yi Lou Introduction
The Ten Virtues Pavilion, a favorite among poets and scholars, is a place where they once composed verses and enjoyed the moonlit nights. In the early years, Lugang was a cultural hub, where many elegant literati often gathered to recite poems or sip tea under the moon. The owner of the Ten Virtues Pavilion was a very hospitable gentleman who built a corridor connecting the two floors, allowing guests to lean over the railing and gaze at the moon from a height. It is said that the corridor intersects with Jinsheng Lane to form a cross, and this place is "suitable for music, chess, poetry, wine, painting, flowers, the moon, leisure, smoke, and tea," hence the name Ten Virtues Pavilion.
