Longting Historical Trail Introduction
Once a vital trade route between Yuanlin and Nantou, also known as the Tiao Salt Ancient Trail, this path is constructed from local stone, preserving the ancient flavor of the trail. The entire trail is approximately 1.7 kilometers long. It features a gently ascending forest path, with only a short section consisting of steep stairs. Along the way, visitors can enjoy close-up views of star fruit, lychee trees, and low-altitude broadleaf forest landscapes. The trail offers various routes that connect to nearby temples such as Cihui Temple, Guangtian Temple, and Yuyi Temple, all of which provide parking space, drinking water, and other facilities (though these may change due to the pandemic), making it very suitable for public leisure hiking.
