Lungting Ancient Trail, formerly known as the Salt Trading Path, was the most convenient mountain trail for ancestors to travel from Yuanlin to Nantou for trade. It is now well-planned and serves as a shortcut for traversing the Baiguo Mountain Range between Nantou and Yuanlin. Along the way, ancient trees provide lush shade; walking this ancient path not only helps exercise the body but also allows visitors to explore many plants rarely seen in urban areas. The current length of the Lungting Ancient Trail is approximately 1,500 meters, ending at the Nantou Fengshan Temple on Baiguo Mountain, where visitors can enjoy a tour. Most people access the Lungting Ancient Trail from the Dainan Pit trailhead, entering through Guangtian Temple, which is well-equipped with facilities, including restrooms and drinking water. Visitors can take a moment to rest here.
