The Longding Ancient Path, formerly known as the Salt Trading Path, was the most convenient mountain trail for ancestors traveling from Yuanlin to Nantou for trade. It is now well-planned and serves as a shortcut for traversing the Baiguo Mountain Range between Nantou and Yuanlin. Along the way, ancient trees provide lush shade; walking this ancient path not only exercises the body but also allows one to learn about various plants that are hard to find in urban areas. The Longding Ancient Path is currently well-planned and approximately 1,500 meters long, with its endpoint at Fengshan Temple on Baiguo Mountain in Nantou, making it a lovely stop. Most visitors to the Longding Ancient Path usually enter from the Dairen坑 trailhead at Guangtian Temple, which is well-equipped with facilities including restrooms and drinking fountains, allowing for a moment of rest.
