Long Ding Ancient Trail Introduction
Once a major trade route between Yuanlin and Nantou, also known as the Tiao Yan Ancient Path, this trail is constructed using local stone materials, maintaining the ancient feel of the pathway. The entire ancient road is about 1.7 kilometers long, featuring a gently ascending shaded trail, with only a brief section comprising steep stairs. Along the route, visitors can closely appreciate the scenery of fruit trees such as star fruit and lychee, as well as low-altitude broadleaf forests. The trail offers diverse routes that connect to nearby temples including Cihui Temple, Guangtian Temple, and Yuyi Temple, which provide parking spaces and drinking water (availability may change due to the pandemic), making it ideal for public leisure hiking.
