Sun Moon Lake Qinglong Mountain Trail Introduction
The Qinglong Mountain Range and Lalu Island, symbolizing the dragon pearl, are rich with legends and stories. The trail begins at the Xuanguang Temple Pier and ends at the Ci'en Pagoda, gradually ascending along the ridge with beautiful scenery. The square in front of Xuanguang Temple offers an excellent view, with a panorama of Lalu Island, the Hanbi Peninsula, and the waterside settlement of Shuishe. Along the trail, there are moss sculptures designed to take advantage of the high temperature and humidity of Sun Moon Lake, such as the Mountain Gate, a small novice monk, scriptures, and the Heart Sutra planting plate. At the square of Xuanguang Temple, there is a statue of Master Xuanzang, commemorating his arduous journey westward to obtain the Buddhist sutras.
