Sun Moon Lake Chinglong Mountain Trail Introduction
The Qingshui Mountain Range and Lalu Island, symbolizing the Dragon Pearl, are rich in legendary stories. The trail starts at the Xuangong Temple Pier and ends at the Cien Pagoda, gradually ascending along the ridge line with beautiful scenery. The square in front of Xuangong Temple offers an excellent view, with Lalu Island, Hanbi Peninsula, and the Shui-She community in full sight. Along the trail, there are moss sculptures designed utilizing the high temperature and humidity characteristics of Sun Moon Lake, such as the Mountain Gate, Small Shami, Sutras, and Heart Sutra Plant Pot. The square at Xuangong Temple features a statue of Master Xuanzang, commemorating the arduous journey of Master Xuanzang's pilgrimage to the West.
