Sun Moon Lake Qinglongshan Trail Introduction
The Qinglong Mountain Range and Lalu Island, which symbolizes the Dragon Pearl, are filled with numerous legends and stories. The trail starts at the Xuanguang Temple Pier and ends at the Ci'en Pagoda, gradually ascending along the ridge with beautiful and stunning scenery. The plaza in front of Xuanguang Temple offers excellent views, showcasing Lalu Island, the Hanbi Peninsula, and the landscape of Shuishe Village. Along the trail, there are moss sculptures designed to reflect the characteristics of Sun Moon Lake's high temperature and humidity, such as the Mountain Gate, Little Novice, Buddhist Scriptures, and Heart Sutra plant plates. In the Xuanguang Temple Plaza, there is a statue of Master Xuanzang, commemorating his arduous journey to the West in search of Buddhist scriptures.
