Sun Moon Lake Qinglong Mountain Trail Introduction
The Qinglong Mountain Range and the island of Lalu, symbolizing the dragon pearl, are rich in legends and stories. The trail begins at the Xuangong Temple Pier and ends at the Cien Pagoda, generally ascending along the ridge with beautiful and breathtaking scenery. The plaza in front of the Xuangong Temple offers an excellent view of the Lalu Island, Hanbi Peninsula, and the Shuishe Village landscape. Along the trail, there are moss sculptures designed to utilize the high temperature and humidity characteristics of Sun Moon Lake, such as the Mountain Gate, Little Novice, Scriptures, and Heart Sutra planting trays. A statue of Master Xuanzang, commemorating his arduous journey to the West for Buddhist scriptures, is located in the plaza of Xuangong Temple.
