Sun Moon Lake Qinglong Mountain Trail Introduction
The Qinglong Mountain Range and Lalu Island, which symbolizes the dragon pearl, are filled with many legendary tales. The trail begins at the Xuanguang Temple Pier and ends at the Ci'en Tower, gradually ascending along the ridge with beautiful scenery. The plaza in front of Xuanguang Temple offers an excellent view of Lalu Island, Hanbi Peninsula, and the Shuishe settlement. Along the trail, there are moss sculptures designed to utilize the high temperature and humidity characteristics of Sun Moon Lake, including a mountain gate, small novice monks, scriptures, and heart sutra plant trays. At the Xuanguang Temple plaza, there is a statue of Master Xuanzang commemorating his arduous journey to the West for Buddhist scriptures.
