Sun Moon Lake TsuTing Trail Introduction

Toutengzi was once the site of the Shau tribe's stone print society, and it is now a place for ancestral rituals of the Shi clan. The trail is themed around the owl, the auspicious symbol of the Shau tribe. Heading south from Sun Moon Village for four kilometers, you will arrive at a pavilion located at the junction of Shaba Mountain and Qiatonglun, where you will see the entrance adorned with an owl statue. An elevated wooden walkway has been constructed to protect the existing terrain and vegetation, featuring numerous information boards along the way that provide explanations about Shau tribe culture. At the end of the trail, there is an observation tower offering views of the distant mountains and nearby waters to the south, north, and west.
