Longpan Park Introduction
Longpan Park is located beside Jiae Highway on the Hengchun Peninsula and features a coral limestone plateau adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. Due to the long-term erosion of the limestone by seawater, the area has formed cliffs, sinkholes, fissures, limestone caves, and red soil, showcasing splendid geology and presenting the most beautiful coastline in the region. Standing on the shore, the towering cliffs dropping several tens of meters are a breathtaking sight, sculpted by the forces of nature. The limestone, known for its many fractured surfaces, is constantly eroded by seawater flowing along the joints, which cuts the limestone into variously sized rock formations. Under the gravitational pull created by the crashing waves, the rocks gradually break apart, ultimately forming the cliffs. If the cliffs were only composed of orange earth near the seawater, the scenery might be somewhat monotonous; however, many green plants thrive here, adding a more vibrant appearance. The blue sky and blue sea merge seamlessly; as the wind blows, the sea and grass both sway, creating a white and green "romance." Such stunning scenery can easily make one forget to move. Walking along the trails in Longpan Park, visitors will also notice some interesting changes along the path. Initially, the road is a red earth surface, but after a bend, a small group of coral rock formations appears along the way. Continuing further, the rocky path transforms into green grass. Approaching the shore, larger coral rocks seem to be sitting still, accompanying travelers in admiring the natural beauty created by the harmonious blend of sea, sky, and rock. Longpan Park faces an endless sky and sea, with unobstructed views and minimal light pollution, making it an ideal spot for watching sunrises, enjoying sunsets, and stargazing. Waking up early for the sunrise is worthwhile; arriving early to wait for the evening glow is worthwhile; sacrificing nighttime rest for a sky full of stars is also worthwhile. It's all "worth it" simply because Longpan Park is a rare place that offers beautiful scenery day and night.
