Longpan Park Introduction
Longpan Park is located along the Jia'e Highway on the Hengchun Peninsula, situated on a coral reef limestone platform facing the Pacific Ocean. Due to the long-term erosion of the limestone by seawater, it has formed magnificent geological features such as cliffs, sinkholes, fissures, limestone caves, and red soil, making it the most beautiful coastline in the area. Standing on the shore, the cliff's drop of several dozen meters is right before your eyes, showcasing a grand landscape sculpted by natural forces. The limestone, characterized by numerous fractures, has been continuously eroded by seawater along these joints over the years, causing pieces of limestone to break off in varying sizes. Under the pulling force generated by the waves, these rock pieces gradually fracture and collapse, shaping the cliffs. If the cliffs were only made up of monotonous orange earth close to the seawater, the scenery might lack variety; however, the presence of abundant green vegetation enhances its vibrant appearance. The sky is blue, the sea is blue, blending into one; as the wind blows, the sea rises in waves, and the grass sways, creating a white-green "romance." It's no wonder that one could easily lose track of time just admiring such breathtaking beauty. Walking along the trails of Longpan Park, one may also notice interesting changes in the landscape. Initially, the path is a red dirt road, but after a turn, you might see a small group of coral reefs clustered along the path. Continuing forward, the rocky surface transitions into green grass. Approaching the coast, larger coral formations seem to sit firmly on the ground, accompanying travelers as they gaze at the natural beauty formed by the harmony of sea, sky, grass, and rock. Longpan Park offers an unobstructed view of the endless sky and sea, with minimal light pollution, making it an ideal spot for watching the sunrise, enjoying the sunset, and stargazing. Waking up early for the moment of dawn is worthwhile; arriving early to await the hues of dusk is worth it; sacrificing a good night's rest to witness the starry sky is still worthwhile. "Worth it" is just because Longpan Park is a rare place where one can experience beautiful landscapes both day and night.
