Luming Suspension Bridge Scenic Area Introduction
The Lukming Suspension Bridge is located in Yanping Township, Taitung County, at the confluence of Yanping, Luye, and Beinan townships. Built in 1959, it was one of the main bridges on the old Taiwan Route 9 and is a steel cable suspension bridge approximately 100 meters long. After Taiwan Route 9 was realigned in 1984 and the new Lukming Bridge was constructed, the function of the Lukming Suspension Bridge gradually diminished. Locally, it is often referred to as the "Old Lukming Suspension Bridge" or "Old Lukming Bridge." In 2003, it was designated as a historical building by the Taitung County Government, and under the planning of the Yanping Township Office, it was renovated into the "Lukming Suspension Bridge Scenic Recreation Area," featuring facilities such as pedestrian viewing areas and observation decks.
