Luan Mountain Forest Cultural Museum Introduction
Luan Mountain boasts Taiwan's low- to mid-elevation pristine forests, which include thousands of precious native banyan trees. Being in this environment feels like stepping into the dreamlike world of Avatar. The native banyan trees here are also known as "walking trees" because their aerial roots continuously expand and spread. When the original branches wither, the aerial roots take their place, giving the impression that the trees are constantly moving. Visitors to the Luan Mountain Forest Museum can plan their itinerary according to the length of their stay. Here, in addition to listening to the explanations of the history of migration by Arian, a member of the Bunun tribe, guests can enter the museum to learn about the mountain wisdom of the Bunun people and attempt to live in the simplest way, returning to a more uncomplicated pace of life. If meals are pre-booked here, you can taste traditional Bunun cuisine that cannot be found in urban restaurants.
