Luan Mountain Forest Cultural Museum Introduction
Luan Mountain features Taiwan's original forests at mid to low elevations, home to thousands of precious native banyan trees. Being surrounded by these trees feels like stepping into a dreamlike scene from Avatar. The native banyan trees here are also known as "walking trees" because their aerial roots continuously expand and spread. When the original branches wither, the aerial roots will take their place, creating an illusion that the trees are constantly moving. At the Luan Mountain Forest Museum, you can plan your visit based on the time you have. Here, you can listen to Aiman from the Bunun tribe explain the history of migration, and by entering the museum, you can learn about the mountain wisdom of the Bunun tribe, attempting to live in the simplest way and return to a more pure pace of life. If you make a reservation for a meal in advance, you can enjoy traditional Bunun cuisine that is hard to find in urban restaurants.
