Luan Mountain Forest Culture Museum Introduction
Luan Mountain has Taiwan's original forests at medium to low elevations, which include thousands of precious native banyan trees. Being surrounded by them feels like stepping into a dreamlike scene from Avatar. The native banyan trees here are also known as "walking trees," because their aerial roots continuously expand and spread. When the original branches wither, the aerial roots will take their place, making it seem as if the trees are constantly moving. At the Luan Mountain Forest Museum, visitors can plan their itinerary according to the time available. Here, you can hear the history of migration narrated by Aliman, who is from the Bunun tribe. Inside the museum, you can learn about the mountainous wisdom of the Bunun people and try to live in the simplest way, returning to a more basic rhythm of life. If meals are reserved in advance, you can enjoy traditional Bunun cuisine that cannot be found in urban restaurants. 【Source: Tribal Backpacker, Feng Taitung Tribal Travel Guide】
