The Water With Flowing Upwards Spectacle Introduction
The Upside-Down Water Wonder is located about 148 kilometers along Taiwan's Provincial Highway No. 11, originally a farming irrigation ditch, approximately 1.8 kilometers from Dulan. Due to a small illusion in the terrain, it has gained fame as it appears that water is flowing upwards. A stone monument with the inscription "Wonder" has been erected beside the ditch. This phenomenon occurs because the road next to the ditch slopes downwards, while the ditch itself is not sloping downwards but has a gentle upward slope. Standing at a lower position, it seems as if the water in the ditch flows up along the downhill road, creating a sense of disbelief. To facilitate visitors, the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration has renovated the area around the Upside-Down Water Wonder and has also set up public restrooms and community workshops. In addition to viewing the wonder, visitors can take a break at the bar in the community workshop, order a drink or fruit, and even buy souvenirs, making it very convenient.
