The Upside Down Waterfall Introduction
The Water Flows Up Wonder is located approximately 148 kilometers along Taiwan Route 11, originally a farming irrigation ditch, about 1.8 kilometers from Dulan. Due to a slight illusion in the terrain, it has gained fame for making it seem like water flows upwards, with a stone tablet inscribed with "Wonder" set up beside the ditch. This phenomenon occurs because the path beside the ditch slopes downward, while the ditch itself is actually a slight uphill incline. Thus, when standing at a lower elevation looking out, it appears as though the water in the ditch is flowing up the downhill path, creating an astonishing impression. To facilitate visitor access, the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration (East Administration) has not only renovated the area around the Water Flows Up but also installed public restrooms and community workshops. In addition to viewing the wonder, visitors can take a break at the workshop bar, order a drink or fruit, and even purchase souvenirs, making it very convenient.
