Shanyuan Bay Introduction
Suyanghu Bay is the core area of Dulan, located on the coastal highway of Provincial Highway 11, just 12 kilometers from Taitung City center. It takes only about 15 minutes to reach from the city, making transportation very convenient. Along the way, you will also pass by Xiaoyeliu, allowing you to enjoy two attractions at once! Suyanghu Bay features a crescent-shaped bay and a 1.5-kilometer long beach with a gentle slope, fine sand, and clear waters without strong currents. It also has a complete coral reef ecosystem, making it perfect for water activities and cooling off. Suyanghu Bay has begun to develop ecological recreational fisheries, where you can enjoy the complete joy of interacting with fish and nature. Historical Background: Suyanghu Bay holds significant cultural and historical importance. It serves as the activity area for the Amis tribe's three villages (Jialulan, Cidong, and Dulan). The tribe refers to Suyanghu Bay as "FUDAFUDAK," which means "to shine brightly." The indigenous people's daily gathering activities and rituals are closely related to Suyanghu Bay. Nearby is the cultural site of the Peinan culture, the "Fushan Site." If you want to experience the charm of nature and indigenous history, Suyanghu Bay is your best choice! Notes: When engaging in water recreation activities, please pay attention to your safety. There are orange buoy warning lines on the sea surface of Suyanghu Bay, and the area inside the line is under lifeguard supervision. During periods without lifeguard supervision, please be vigilant about your safety. People are allowed to swim and enjoy beach activities within the supervised area; the area outside the supervision is designated for non-motorized water recreation activities, marked by white buoys indicating the channel for non-motorized crafts. Activities such as kayaking, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding), and small non-motorized sailing boats are permitted. Everyone is welcome to enjoy water activities safely.
