Sanjhih Bay Introduction
Suhua Bay is the core area of Dulan, located along the Coastal Highway on Provincial Highway 11, just 12 kilometers away from Taitung city center. It takes only 15 minutes to reach from the city, making transportation very convenient. On the way, you can also pass by Little Yeliu, allowing you to enjoy two attractions at once! Suhua Bay features a crescent-shaped bay and a 1.5-kilometer-long sandy beach with gentle slopes, fine sand, clear water without strong currents, and a complete coral reef community, making it ideal for water play and cooling off. Suhua Bay has begun to develop ecological leisure fishing, where you can enjoy the joy of being close to fish and nature. Historical Background: Suhua Bay holds significant cultural and historical importance. It is the activity area of three Amis tribes (Jialulan, Citoron, and Dulan), and the tribe refers to Suhua Bay as "FUDAFUDAK," meaning "sparkling." The daily gathering and rituals of the indigenous people are closely related to Suhua Bay. Nearby is the cultural relic "Fushan Site" of the Puyuma culture. If you want to experience the essence of nature and indigenous history, Suhua Bay is your best choice! Notes: When engaging in water recreation activities, please be sure to pay attention to your own safety. There are orange buoys marking the caution line on the surface of Suhua Bay, with the area inside monitored by lifeguards. During times without lifeguard supervision, please be vigilant about your own safety. People can engage in beach play and swimming within the guarded area; outside the guarded area is a non-motorized recreation zone, marked by white buoys indicating no motorized vessel access. Activities such as kayaking, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding), and small sailing boats can be done here, so everyone is welcome to enjoy water activities safely.
