Moonlight Cabin Introduction
The Moonlight Pavilion is located at the foot of Dulan Mountain, and it's a charming little house filled with the aroma of coffee and artistic vibes. It became a popular recreational spot after being featured in the movie "Under the Moonlight, I Remember," directed by Lin Cheng-sheng in 2003. The second floor still retains the filming scenes from that time, while the first floor is currently operated as an exhibition space by the local art team "The Siren Speaks" Gallery, which regularly hosts various dynamic and static art and cultural performances, attracting many travelers who come to experience the diverse and vibrant art culture of the East Coast. The Moonlight Pavilion was originally the administrative center of the Dulan Forest Farm and a recreational education center for public servants. Winding along the mountain path, visitors can enjoy the different natural sceneries of farmlands, mountains, and bays along the way. Especially the irregular stone paths evolving through the fields evoke the origin of the name "Dulan - Atolan": it recalls the scene of ancestors from the Amis tribe cultivating the land hundreds of years ago, creating the tiered landscape of the Coastal Mountain Range in Dulan. On the other side of the Moonlight Pavilion is the "Moonlight Coffee House," featuring a uniquely shaped bar made from driftwood, complemented with beautiful bark lamps and stained glass, making the place quite enchanting. The "Moonlight Coffee House" not only offers various coffees, beverages, and handmade snacks but also showcases many handmade products from local artists, as well as unique foreign goods such as music, books, ornaments, and clothing brought back by the owners from abroad. When you visit the Moonlight Pavilion, while enjoying the magnificent view of Dulan Bay, don’t forget to order a fragrant drink at the coffee house, gaze at the vast Pacific Ocean, and feel the soothing sea breeze with the slow charm that belongs to Dulan. How to get there: Along Provincial Highway 11 in Dulan Village, turn towards the mountain direction after seeing the Dulan Ruins sign at the 146.5-kilometer mark, and continue following the signs through the "Coffin Area" and "Stone Wall Area" for about 3-5 minutes to reach your destination.
