Millennium Dawn Memorial Park Introduction
The Millennium Dawn Memorial Park is named after January 1, 2000, when the world celebrated the arrival of the 21st century with the Millennium New Year’s Dawn concert held on this beach, connecting live broadcasts with 25 countries, making the waters of Taimali a global focal point. Since then, a New Year’s music festival has been held here every year, featuring family interactive experiences, live band performances, indigenous music and dances, flag-raising ceremonies, and a variety of exciting activities. The Paiwan language name for Taimali, known as the hometown of the rising sun, is "Ja.Bau.Li," which means the place where the sun rises. Welcoming the first rays of dawn in this hometown has now become one of Taiwan’s iconic New Year’s events. The park also features the "Dawn Memorial Wall" and the "Dawn Monument," so don't miss them! When enjoying family recreational trips along the Southern Cross-Island Highway, consider stopping by the Millennium Dawn Memorial Park to appreciate the beautiful sunset and enjoy the sea breeze in the evening, or dip your feet in the water to wash away the fatigue of commuting.
