Millennium Sunrise Memorial Park Introduction
The Millennium Dawn Memorial Park is named after January 1, 2000, when the world celebrated the arrival of the 21st century. A millennium sunrise concert was held on this beach, broadcasting live in connection with 25 countries, making Taimali's coastline the center of global attention. Since then, an annual New Year's Eve music festival has been organized here, featuring interactive family experiences, live band performances, as well as indigenous music and dance, flag-raising ceremonies, and other exciting activities. In the Paiwan language, Taimali is called "Ja.Bau.Li," meaning the place where the sun rises, solidifying Taimali as "the land of the rising sun." Welcoming the first rays of dawn in this land has become one of Taiwan's iconic New Year's events. The park also features a "Dawn Memorial Wall" and a "Dawn Monument," so be sure not to miss them! If you're traveling along the Southern Cross-Island Highway with your family, consider stopping by the Millennium Dawn Memorial Park to enjoy the beautiful sunset, feel the sea breeze, and dip your feet in the water to wash away the fatigue of commuting.
