Guanshan Circular Bike Path Introduction
The Guanshan Circular Bicycle Path is Taiwan's first dedicated bicycle lane, encircling Guanshan Township with a total length of approximately 12 kilometers, divided into two sections: the "Water-Friendly Section" and the "Mountain-Friendly Section." The "Water-Friendly Section" starts from Guanshan Waterside Park, following the Guanshan Drain and Kanding Creek, where riders can admire the majestic greenery of the Central Mountain Range and the expansive rice fields of the Hualien-Taitung Valley. The rice fields exhibit different sceneries throughout the year, with the tender green rice seedlings bringing the vitality of spring, the mountain breeze before harvest sweeping over the rice waves, filling the air with the fragrance of rice, granting a complete relaxation of body and mind. After the harvest, fields are adorned with rapeseed flowers, painting Guanshan's beautiful mountains and waters into a vibrant canvas. Upon entering the "Mountain-Friendly Section," a gentle slope leads to the Zongguan Sun Moon Pavilion, where one can take a break and overlook the panoramic views of Guanshan township. On the return trip, it is recommended to ride into Guanshan Township to visit the Guanshan Rice School. In addition to agricultural experiences, it is also a place to enjoy various delicacies and snacks made from Guanshan rice, or head to Taitung Tianhou Temple to taste the delicious local snacks. The Guanshan Train Station and the area around the Lilang Station are known for their Guanshan bento, featuring snowy white and fragrant rice, making it a great choice for replenishing energy after exercise.
