Guanshan Circular Bike Path Introduction
The Guanshan Circumferential Bicycle Path is Taiwan's first dedicated bicycle path, circling around Guanshan Township with a total length of approximately 12 kilometers, divided into "Waterfront Section" and "Mountain Section." The "Waterfront Section" starts from Guanshan Riverside Park, following the Guanshan Drain and Kanding Creek, where one can enjoy the majestic green Central Mountain Range and the endless rice fields of the Hualien-Taitung Valley. The rice fields change their scenery throughout the seasons, with the tender green seedlings bringing the vibrance of spring, while the mountain breeze sways the rice waves before harvest, filling the air with the aroma of rice that brings complete relaxation. After harvest, fields filled with rapeseed flowers create a vividly colorful painting of Guanshan's beautiful landscape. Upon entering the "Mountain Section," a gentle slope leads to the Zongguan Sun and Moon Pavilion, where visitors can take a break and overlook the entire view of Guanshan Township. On the return journey, it's worth biking into the town to visit the Guanshan Rice National School. Besides agricultural experiences, one can enjoy various delicacies and snacks made with Guanshan rice, or head to Taitung Matsu Temple to taste the delicious street food nearby. The meals around Guanshan Railway Station and Lilon Station feature rice that is fluffy and fragrant, making it an excellent choice for replenishing energy after exercise.
