Guanshan Surrounding Cycling Path Introduction
The Guan Shan Circular Bicycle Path is Taiwan's first dedicated bicycle path, encircling the outskirts of Guan Shan Township, with a total length of approximately 12 kilometers, divided into two sections: the "Waterside Section" and the "Mountain Side Section." The "Waterside Section" begins at Guan Shan Waterside Park, following the Guan Shan Drain and the Kanding Creek. Along the way, you can see the magnificent green Central Mountain Range and the vast rice fields of the Huadong Valley, which showcase different sceneries throughout the year. The tender green rice seedlings bring the vitality of spring, the breeze sweeps through the rice waves before harvest, and the aroma of rice comes rushing in, completely relaxing the body and mind. After the harvest, rapeseed flowers fill the fields, painting a vibrant picture of Guan Shan's beautiful landscape. Upon entering the "Mountain Side Section," you can reach the Zongguan Sun Moon Pavilion along a gentle slope, where you can take a break and overlook the panoramic view of Guan Shan Township. On the return trip, it's worth riding into the town of Guan Shan to visit the Guan Shan Rice National School; besides agricultural experiences, you can also enjoy various delicacies and snacks made with Guan Shan rice there, or head to Taitung Tianhou Temple to taste delicious local snacks. The environment around Guan Shan Railway Station and Lilang Station offers Guan Shan bento, with its snow-white and fragrant rice, making it a great option to replenish energy after exercise.
