Laoxi and Baibao River Waterfront Park Introduction
Laoxi River and Baibao River are both located upstream of Li Yu Tan in Shoufeng Township and are important water sources for Li Yu Tan. The clear stream water flowing from the Central Mountain Range is unspoiled year-round, and during summer, the cool waters attract the public, with laughter echoing through the valleys, competing with the summer cicadas, presenting a scene of a summer natural paradise. It is a hidden gem for locals in Hualien. Strictly speaking, Baibao River is considered the upstream of Laoxi River. This area is a source of "Taiwan jade," with the riverbed rich in various stones shining in green and purple, known as the famous "Feng Tian Jade" and "serpentine." Visitors here can enjoy playing in the water while treasure hunting in the riverbed for their favorite stones. The Baibao River cycling ecological trail, with a total length of 7.3 kilometers, offers beautiful scenery and combines cycling, hiking trails, river tracing, ecology, and cultural activities, embodying a simple lifestyle for leisure travel. This is a must-visit for cycling enthusiasts.
