Wuzhih Mountain Tea Garden Introduction
Wuzhihu Village is the hometown of Tianhe Tea. Since the promotion of tea cultivation by the Council of Agriculture in 1973, with the guidance of experts and continuous improvements, the quality of tea leaves has gradually increased, and "Tianhe Tea" has emerged as a rising star in Taiwan's tea production. Wuzhihu has become a well-known tea-producing area in the province, renowned both domestically and internationally. With the economic development of the Ruisui area, road expansions, and numerous leisure villas, tourists continuously flock to this region. If you drive through the Wuzhihu Plateau, you will see that almost everything is covered with tea gardens. Approximately thirty to forty tea gardens, which produce and sell their own tea, are scattered across the expansive Wuzhihu Plateau. Each tea garden owner has unique methods for making tea. Today, Wuzhihu Village has developed into a brand new tourist destination. Visitors to the Hualien-Taitung Valley often stop by these tea gardens to enjoy tea, tea-flavored sweet jelly, tea candy, green tea cakes, and tea pastries, which truly make for a delightful experience in life. The tea produced in Wuzhihu mainly consists of oolong tea varieties, including Qingxin Oolong, Jin Xuan Tea, and Cui Yu Baozhong. The tea leaves are thick and tender with exceptional flavor, making them quite popular. Additionally, there are well-equipped resorts and homestays in this area. It is recommended to take a trip to the Wuzhihu Plateau on a weekend to taste the fragrant tea and enjoy the leisure and relaxation of a countryside getaway.
