Wuzhih Mountain Tea Plantation Introduction
Wuzhih Village is the hometown of Tianhe tea. Since the promotion of tea cultivation by the Agricultural and Forestry Department in 1973, with expert guidance and continuous improvements, the quality of tea has gradually enhanced, and "Tianhe tea" has finally become a rising star in Taiwan's tea industry. Wuzhih has risen to become a well-known tea-producing area in the province, recognized not only domestically but also internationally. With the economic development in the Ruisui area, the roads have been widened, and leisure villas have proliferated, leading to a constant flow of tourists coming here. If you drive through the Wuzhih Plateau, you will see an expanse of tea gardens, with thirty to forty tea farms producing and selling their own tea scattered across the wide Wuzhih Plateau. Each tea garden owner possesses a unique tea-making secret. Today, Wuzhih Village has developed into a brand-new tourist village. Visitors to the Hualien-Taitung Valley often stop in these tea gardens to enjoy tea, tea-flavored jelly, tea candies, green tea cakes, and tea pastries, making it a great pleasure in life. The tea produced in Wuzhih is mainly of the Oolong tea variety, including Qingxin Oolong, Jin Xuan tea, and Cuiyu Pouchong, known for their rich, tender leaves and exquisite flavor, which are widely favored. Moreover, there are well-equipped resorts and bed-and-breakfasts here. It is recommended that you take a trip to the Wuzhih Plateau over a weekend to taste the fragrant tea and enjoy the leisurely and relaxing rural vacation.
