Wuzhih Tourism Tea Garden Introduction
Wuzhih Village is the homeland of Tianhe tea. Since the promotion of tea cultivation by the Council of Agriculture in 1973, through expert guidance and continuous improvement, the quality of tea leaves has gradually enhanced, and "Tianhe tea" has finally become a rising star in Taiwan's tea production. Wuzhih has risen to become a renowned tea-producing area in the province, gaining fame not only domestically but also internationally. With the economic development in the Ruishi area, road expansion, and the establishment of numerous leisure villas, tourists have flocked to this area continuously. When driving through the Wuzhih Plateau, you will see almost entirely tea plantations at a glance, with around 30 to 40 tea gardens that process and sell their own tea. Each tea garden owner has their own unique tea-making secrets. Today, Wuzhih Village has developed into a brand-new tourist village. Visitors to the Hualien-Taitung Valley often stop by these tea gardens to enjoy tea, eat tea-flavored yokan (a type of jelly), tea candy, green tea cakes, and tea pastries, which truly is one of life's great pleasures. The tea produced in Wuzhih mainly consists of Oolong tea varieties, including Qingxin Oolong, Jin Shuan tea, and Cuiyu Baozhong, characterized by their thick and tender leaves with exceptional flavor, making them widely favored. Additionally, there are well-equipped resorts and homestays in the area. It is recommended to take a trip to the Wuzhih Plateau on a weekend to taste the fragrant tea and enjoy the leisurely and relaxing rural vacation.
