Tu Mama Rice Dumplings Introduction
-Signature Dishes- Premium Sticky Rice Dumplings, Four God Soup, Fish Ball Soup. Initially, the plan was to supplement family income by selling meat dumplings, not expecting that the dumplings with the "mother's taste" would become very popular. This led to transforming from a hand-pushed cart into a restaurant. Since the shop is located next to the Huatung Highway, it conveniently attracted passersby and received free publicity. Mama Tu's Sticky Rice Dumplings carefully select Glutinous Rice and Round Glutinous Rice from Guangshan, with fillings made from uncontaminated front leg meat from Hualien. The glutinous rice is stir-fried and steamed with Mama Tu's unique recipe developed over 30 years. The pork is marinated for two and a half hours in a proprietary braising sauce, along with a bit of fragrant mushrooms and seasoning, giving it a distinctive taste. Mama Tu's Sticky Rice Dumplings are steamed after the glutinous rice is cooked, then filled and steamed to bring out the aroma of the bamboo leaves, making them more chewy and soft compared to the usual dumplings which are stir-fried partially and then steamed. Each grain of rice is distinct, and when drizzled with the shop's special sauce and paired with a bowl of soup, it delivers a simple taste of home!
