Maple Leaf Hot Springs Introduction
Proceed straight along Rueisuei Hot Spring Road, continue past the Rueisuei Hot Spring area, and finally, after crossing the Maple Leaf Bridge, you will arrive at the Maple Leaf Hot Spring located at the foot of the mountain! It is about 5 kilometers from Rueisuei Station. The temperature of the hot spring is approximately 47 degrees Celsius, and the water quality is a mildly alkaline "sodium bicarbonate spring." The water is clear and tasteless, and it is said to be suitable for both bathing and drinking! With abundant water flow that lasts throughout the year, it's no wonder that Maple Leaf Hot Spring has been famous since the Japanese occupation period. At that time, the Japanese established it as a police sanatorium; after the retrocession, it was transformed into the privately operated Maple Leaf Hot Spring Inn. This inn has been designated as a cultural asset, and while it can operate, it must not undergo any alterations to the building, so to this day, the appearance of the inn maintains its quaint, traditional Japanese wooden architecture, with rooms featuring tatami mat flooring in both shared and suite accommodations, and the bathhouse contains old-style bathtubs lined with round tiles. Although the decor is not new or luxurious, Maple Leaf Hot Spring offers a clear corridor, wooden lattice windows, rows of tatami-matted common areas, and elegant garden views, creating a more authentic hot spring atmosphere steeped in antiquity. The unique geographical environment allows the entire inn to emanate a strong sense of nostalgia, letting guests soak in warm spring water while gazing at the misty mountain scenery and enjoying the embrace of nature.
