Hongye Hot Springs Introduction
Proceed straight along Ruisui Hot Spring Road, continue straight through the Ruisui Hot Spring area, and finally, after crossing the Momiji Bridge, you will reach the Momiji Hot Spring at the foot of the mountain! It is about 5 kilometers from Ruisui Station. The hot spring temperature is around 47 degrees Celsius, and the water type is a weak alkaline "sodium bicarbonate spring," with clear and tasteless water that can be bathed in; it is also said to be drinkable! The water flow is abundant and does not cease throughout the seasons, no wonder Momiji Hot Spring has gained fame since the Japanese colonial period. At that time, it was set up as a police sanatorium; after the end of Japanese rule, it was transformed into the privately operated Momiji Hot Spring Inn. This inn has been designated as a cultural asset and, while it can operate, the condition is that no alterations can be made to the building. Therefore, to this day, the appearance of the inn maintains its rustic Japanese wooden structure, with rooms still furnished with tatami mats in both Japanese-style dormitories and suites, and the bath features an old-style bathtub covered in round tiles. Although the decor is not new or luxurious, the Momiji Hot Spring has a clean long corridor, wooden lattice windows, rows of tatami mat dormitories, and elegant garden views, creating a more authentic hot spring atmosphere with its antique charm. The unique geographic environment causes the entire inn to be filled with a strong nostalgic feeling, allowing guests to soak in the warm spring water while enjoying the misty mountain scenery and embracing nature.
