Maple Leaf Hot Springs Introduction

Drive straight along Ruisui Hot Spring Road, and after passing through the Ruisui Hot Spring area, continue straight until you cross the Maple Leaf Bridge, where you will arrive at the Maple Leaf Hot Spring located at the foot of the mountains! It is about 5 kilometers from Ruisui Station. The temperature of the hot spring is around 47 degrees Celsius, and the water quality is a weak alkaline "sodium bicarbonate spring," with clear and tasteless water that is said to be suitable for both bathing and drinking! The water flow is abundant and never runs dry, which explains why the Maple Leaf Hot Spring has had a longstanding reputation since the Japanese colonial period. At that time, it was established as a health resort for police officers; after the end of Japanese rule, it became privately operated as the Maple Leaf Hot Spring Inn. This inn has been designated as a cultural heritage site. Although it can operate, any changes to the structure are not allowed. Therefore, to this day, the inn maintains its rustic Japanese wooden architecture, with rooms that feature tatami mat flooring in both the shared and private rooms, and a bathhouse that has an old-style bathtub lined with round tiles. While the decor may not be new or luxurious, the Maple Leaf Hot Spring boasts clear corridors, wooden lattice windows, rows of tatami mat rooms, and elegant garden views, which create a more authentic hot spring atmosphere with an antique charm. The advantageous geographical setting allows the entire inn to exude a strong nostalgic vibe, enabling guests to soak in the warm spring water while gazing at the misty mountain scenery and enjoying the embrace of nature.
