Maple Leaf Hot Springs Introduction

Proceed straight along Ruei Suo Hot Spring Road, pass through the Ruei Suo Hot Spring Area, and continue straight ahead. Finally, after crossing the Red Leaf Bridge, you will reach the Red Leaf Hot Spring at the foot of the mountain! It is about 5 kilometers from Ruei Suo Station. The temperature of the hot spring is approximately 47 degrees Celsius, and the spring water is of a weak alkaline "sodium bicarbonate spring" type, clear and tasteless, suitable for bathing and reportedly drinkable! Moreover, the spring water is abundant and does not run dry throughout the seasons, which is why Red Leaf Hot Spring has been well-known since the Japanese colonial period. At that time, the Japanese established it as a police sanatorium; after the restoration of Taiwan, it became the privately operated Red Leaf Hot Spring Inn. This inn has been designated as a cultural heritage site; although it can operate, it must not undergo any alterations to the building. Thus, to this day, the appearance of the inn remains as an old-fashioned Japanese wooden structure, with rooms featuring tatami mat groupings and suites, and the bathhouse containing traditional bathtubs lined with round tiles. Although the decor is not new or luxurious, Red Leaf Hot Spring boasts clear corridors, wooden lattice windows, rows of tatami mat rooms, and an elegant garden landscape, creating a more atmospheric and antique hot spring vibe. Its unique geographical environment enhances the nostalgic charm of the entire inn, allowing guests to soak in the warm spring water while admiring the swirling mountain mist and enjoying the embrace of nature.
