Aimen Beach (including Lintou Beach) Introduction
Aimen has the longest golden sandy beach in Penghu, made up of coral, shell fragments, and foraminifera remains. Among them, the star-shaped foraminifera is particularly stunning. The beach, with white coral fragments contrasting against the blue sea and sky, resembles a white ribbon encircling the beach on the southern side of Huxi Township, creating a spectacular view. In earlier years, Aimen Beach was stripped of sand and turned into exposed rocks due to sand mining. Local elder Lee Tian-yu and community enthusiasts used sand barriers to protect the beach, restoring Aimen Beach to its former beauty. It has now become a popular romantic beach in Penghu, with calm waters suitable for water activities, wooden pavilions for sun and rain shelter, and water taps for visitors to rinse off. Aimen Beach stretches for several kilometers, connecting to Lintu Beach. Its wide and beautiful sandy expanse inspired the creation of a shell-shaped church at Lintu Beach, designed to resemble a heart shell. The pure white, stunning shell shape looks like a love horn, with streamlined stripes symbolizing the sense of rhythm, as if the church plays wedding music. The heart-shaped hollow form on the roof, combined with the arrangement of lucky four-leaf clovers, casts different sunlight projections over time, exuding a romantic atmosphere and becoming a new highlight in Penghu.
