Lintou Park Introduction
Entering Linhou Park in Lintou, Hsiang, Penghu, you will see a lush green landscape. Linhou Park is also one of the few green spaces in Penghu County from its early days. Since 1946, the Penghu County government has actively worked on afforestation, planting nearly 90,000 mahuang trees in this area. The park was established here in 1957. At the right side of the end of the entrance path to Linhou Park is the Military Loyal Spirit Shrine, originally named "Taiwan Province Penghu Military Cemetery." It was renovated and completed in 1989. Inside the shrine's archway, there is a monument inscribed with the words "Everlasting Spirit," written in 1958 by then-Minister of National Defense Yu Dawei during the 823 Artillery Battle. The remains of generals such as Ji Xingwen, Zhao Jiaxiang, and Zhang Jie, who died in the 823 Artillery Battle, are honored here. Linhou Park provides shaded pathways for tourists to stroll. If you get tired, there are lovely relaxation benches and natural stone seats for visitors to rest. The park is filled with green grass, trees, and colorful flowers, making it a refreshing and enjoyable place for hiking and recreation. Within the park, there is a monument dedicated to the victims of the Flight 525 disaster, commemorating the tragic event on May 25, 2002, when China Airlines Flight 611 from Taipei to Hong Kong sadly crashed into the sea near Modo Islet in Penghu, resulting in the loss of passengers and crew. [Recommended stay time] 1.5 hours.
