Pan Anbang Memorial Hall Introduction
The folk singer Pan Anbang, who became famous with the song "Grandma's Penghu Bay," is a resident of the "Jinlongtou Village" (Duxing Ten Village) preservation area in Magong, Penghu County, Taiwan. Born in 1961 in Duxing Ten Village, Pan Anbang grew up in Penghu under the care of his grandmother. After moving to Taipei and meeting his friend Ye Jiaxiu, he gradually entered the folk music scene. After expressing his nostalgia for his hometown of Penghu and his grandmother several times, he transformed those feelings into lyrics and music, creating the popular song "Grandma's Penghu Bay." Pan Anbang's former residence is located at No. 5, Lane 1, Xinfuxi, Magong City. The house is a Japanese-style standalone building constructed from bamboo, limestone, yellow mud, and Penghu's unique material, "Lao Gu Stone." At the entrance of the alley is the home of the late singer Zhang Yusheng, and notable actors Hu Jin and Zhao Shun also hail from Duxing Ten Village. The Penghu County Government has invested in the renovation of Pan Anbang's former residence, turning it into a memorial museum to commemorate his life and achievements. The garden features an over 90-year-old olive tree, which is now listed as a precious old tree numbered "Magong 17," making it the 53rd precious old tree currently recognized in Penghu County. **Suggested stay time:** 0.5 hours
