Pan Anbang Memorial Hall Introduction
Mr. Pan An-Bang, a folk singer who became famous with the song "Grandma's Penghu Bay," hails from the Jinlongtou Community (Duxing 10th Village) in Magong, Penghu County, Taiwan. Born in 1961 in Duxing 10th Village, he grew up in Penghu under the loving care of his grandmother. In adulthood, he moved to Taipei by chance and met his friend Mr. Yeh Chia-Hsiu, eventually entering the folk music scene. After several discussions expressing his nostalgia for his hometown Penghu and his grandmother, he transformed these emotions into lyrics and music, creating "Grandma's Penghu Bay," which became a popular song of that era. The residence of Pan An-Bang is located at No. 5, Alley 1, Xinfuxin Village, Magong City, and the house is a standalone Japanese-style building constructed from bamboo, lime, yellow mud, and the unique Penghu material "Lao Gu Stone." At the alley's entrance is the home of the late singer Zhang Yusheng, and renowned actors Hu Jin and Zhao Shun also share the same origins from Duxing 10th Village. The Penghu County Government invested in renovating Pan An-Bang's former residence and converted it into a memorial hall to commemorate his life. The garden features an over 90-year-old olive tree, which is now designated as a precious old tree numbered "Magong 17," and is the 53rd precious old tree currently under management in Penghu County. 【Suggested visit duration】 0.5 hours
