Yuanpei University of Science and Technology Introduction
Yuanpei University of Science and Technology was formerly known as Yuanpei College of Medical Technology. It is not only the only medical technology school in the Hsinchu area but also the first in Taiwan. The founder, Tsai Kuang-yu, a radiological technology expert born in Hsinchu, went to Japan at the age of fourteen to attend Hiroshima Junior High School and then excelled at Kyoto Radiological College. After graduating, he stayed on as a teaching assistant and furthered his studies in the radiological research program at Kyoto University. To cultivate medical technology talents, he established the school in 1965. Over the past forty years, it has nurtured over 6,000 alumni who are distributed across public and private medical institutions nationwide. Although the campus area is not large, the buildings, constructed according to the terrain, each have their own characteristics. The entire campus is lush with greenery, with lawns and flowerbeds visible everywhere. A wooden platform has also been built under a historic tree, equipped with elegant wrought-iron tables and chairs, becoming the best place for students to socialize and rest during their breaks.
