Yuanpei University of Technology Introduction

Yuanpei University of Science and Technology originated from the Yuanpei Medical Technical School, which is not only the only medical technology school in Hsinchu but also the first in Taiwan. The founder, Tsai Kwang-Yu, was a radiologic technologist born in Hsinchu. At the age of fourteen, he went to Japan to attend Hiroshima Secondary School and subsequently excelled in the Kyoto Radiological School. After graduation, he worked as a teaching assistant at the school and pursued further studies in the radiology research program at Kyoto University. In order to cultivate medical technology talents, he established the school in 1965. Over the past forty years, it has produced more than 6,000 alumni who are now spread across various public and private medical institutions throughout the country. Although the campus is not large, the buildings, which were constructed in harmony with the mountainous terrain, each possess unique characteristics. The campus is lush with greenery, and lawns and flower beds can be seen everywhere. A wooden boardwalk platform has been built under a historic tree, featuring elegant forged tables and chairs, providing an ideal space for students to communicate and relax during their breaks.
