Yuanpei University of Science and Technology Introduction
Yuanpei University of Science and Technology was formerly known as Yuanpei Medical Technical College. It is not only the only medical technical school in the Hsinchu area but also the first in Taiwan. The founder, Tsai Kuang-yu, was a radiologic technology expert born in Hsinchu. At the age of fourteen, he went to Japan and attended Hiroshima Junior High School, and soon after, he enrolled in the Kyoto Radiological School with outstanding grades. After graduating, he stayed on as a teaching assistant and furthered his studies at the Radiology Research Program at Kyoto University. To cultivate medical technical talent, he founded this school in 1965. Over the past forty years, the institution has produced more than six thousand alumni, who are now spread across public and private medical facilities nationwide. Although the campus area is not large, the buildings constructed according to the terrain each have their unique characteristics. The entire campus is lush and green, with lawns and flowerbeds visible everywhere. A wooden plank platform has also been built under an old historical tree, with elegant wrought-iron tables and chairs, making it the best place for students to socialize and relax during their spare time.
