Yuanpei University of Technology Introduction
Yuanpei University of Science and Technology was formerly known as Yuanpei Medical Technical College. It is not only the only medical technology school in the Hsinchu region but also the first in Taiwan. The founder, Cai Guangyu, a radiologic technology expert born in Hsinchu, moved to Japan at the age of fourteen and attended Hiroshima Junior High School. He then excelled academically at Kyoto Radiological School and remained as an assistant instructor after graduation, later pursuing further studies at Kyoto University’s Radiological Research Institute. To cultivate medical technology talents, he established this school in 1965, and over the past forty years, it has produced over six thousand alumni who are now active in public and private medical institutions across the country. Although the campus area is not large, the buildings, constructed according to the terrain, each have their unique characteristics. The entire campus is lush with greenery, with lawns and flower beds visible everywhere. A wooden plank path has also been built under the historic trees, furnished with elegant wrought-iron tables and chairs, becoming the ideal place for students to relax and socialize during their breaks.
