Yuanpei University of Science and Technology Introduction
Yuanpei University of Science and Technology was formerly known as Yuanpei Medical Vocational School, which is not only the only medical technology school in the Hsinchu area but also the first in Taiwan. The founder, Tsai Guang-Yu, was a radiological technology expert born in Hsinchu. At the age of fourteen, he went to Japan to attend Hiroshima Middle School and subsequently achieved outstanding grades at the Kyoto Radiological Vocational School. After graduation, he stayed on as an assistant teacher and furthered his studies in the Radiology Research Class at Kyoto University. In 1965, he established this school to cultivate medical technology professionals. Over the past forty years, the institution has produced more than 6,000 alumni who are now spread across public and private medical institutions nationwide. Although the campus area is not large, the buildings, which are constructed according to the terrain, each have their unique characteristics. The entire campus is lush with greenery, featuring lawns and flower beds throughout. A wooden boardwalk platform has also been built under a historic tree, adorned with elegant wrought iron tables and chairs, making it the perfect place for students to relax and socialize during their breaks.
