Jinshi Residence Introduction
Zheng Yongxi was born in 1788 and passed the imperial examination in 1823, making him the first candidate from Taiwan to achieve the title of Jinshi in the capital, thus earning him the nickname "The First Jinshi of Taiwan." In 1837, Zheng Yongxi constructed a large compound with three rooms and three courtyards. Unfortunately, one of the courtyards was destroyed during World War II, leaving only the first two courtyards. The residence is filled with intricate carvings and exquisite craftsmanship that are truly remarkable.
