Jinshi Residence Introduction
Zheng Yongxi was born in 1788 and passed the imperial examination in 1823, making him the first person from Taiwan to pass the examination and earn the title of "jinshi" in Beijing, thus he is referred to as the "Founding Jinshi." In 1837, Zheng Yongxi constructed a large courtyard with three sections and three entrances. Unfortunately, the rear section was destroyed during World War II, leaving only the front two sections. The residence is adorned with exquisite carvings and craftsmanship that are remarkable and breathtaking.
