Jinshi Hall Introduction
Zheng Yongxi was born in 1788 and passed the imperial examination in 1823, becoming the first person from Taiwan to be awarded the degree of Jinshi in the capital, hence he is referred to as the "Kaitai Jinshi." In 1837, Zheng Yongxi constructed a large courtyard with three sections and three entrances. Unfortunately, the rear section was destroyed during World War II, leaving only the front two sections. The residence is filled with exquisite carvings and craftsmanship that are truly breathtaking.
