Jinshi House Introduction

Zheng Yongxi was born in 1788 and became a successful candidate in the imperial examination in 1823. He is known as the "First Scholar of Taiwan" as he was the first person from Taiwan to achieve this honor in the capital. In 1837, Zheng Yongxi constructed a large residence with three sections and three courtyards. Unfortunately, the rear section was destroyed during World War II, leaving only the front two sections. Throughout the residence, one can find exquisite and intricately carved details that are truly breathtaking.
