Seventeen Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area Introduction
The Seventeen Kilometers Coast Scenic Area refers to the coastline of Hsinchu City, stretching from Nanliao in the north to Nangang in the south, covering approximately seventeen kilometers. It is classified as a water-accumulated coast, with thousands of hectares of intertidal zones, making it the largest coastal wetland in northern Taiwan, nurturing a large number of shrimp, crabs, and shellfish. The Seventeen Kilometers Coast Scenic Area includes eight major areas: Hsinchu Fishing Port recreational fishing boat pier, seaside park, ocean view area, Gangnan Canal, scenic coastline, mangrove park, Haishan Fishing Port observation deck (including rest and dining activities), and the bird-watching area in Nangang. Additionally, it features a sailing sports park, Nanliao leisure old port, eco-leisure park, Hsinchu City nursery, seaside park, environmental education center, Gangnan coastal scenic area, Jincheng Lake bird-watching area, Cekyay Water Resource Treatment Center, Xiangshan Wetland Natural Ecology Area, Nangang Crescent-shaped White Sand Bay, wind power plants, five characteristic bridges along bicycle paths, and the blue sea route from Nanliao Fishing Port to Haishan Fishing Port, allowing visitors to enjoy gourmet food, beautiful scenery, recreation, sports, and cultural experiences while making the Seventeen Kilometers Coast Scenic Area a well-known tourist and leisure destination in Taiwan.
