Seventeen Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area Introduction

The 17-kilometer Coastal Scenic Area refers to the coastline of Hsinchu City, stretching from Nanjiao in the north to Nangang in the south, covering approximately 17 kilometers. It is classified as a water-accumulated coastline, with thousands of hectares of intertidal zones, making it the largest coastal wetland in northern Taiwan, nurturing a large population of shrimp, crabs, and mollusks. The 17-kilometer Coastal Scenic Area is planned to include eight major zones: Hsinchu Fishing Port recreational fishing boat dock, seaside park, ocean view area, Nangang Canal, charming coastline, mangrove park, Haishan Fishing Port viewing platform (including rest and dining activities), and the Nangang bird watching area. Additionally, plans include a sailing sports park, Nanjiao leisure old port, eco-recreation park, Hsinchu City nursery, seaside park, environmental education center, Port South coastal scenic area, Jincheng Lake bird watching area, Kejiya water resource treatment center, Xiangshan wetland natural ecology area, Nangang crescent-shaped white sand bay, wind power plant, five feature bridges of bicycle paths, and the blue route from Nanjiao Fishing Port to Haishan Fishing Port. This allows the public to enjoy food, beautiful scenery, recreation, sports, and cultural exploration during their travels, making the 17-kilometer Coastal Scenic Area a well-known tourist and recreational destination in Taiwan.
