Seventeen Kilometers Coast Scenic Area Introduction

The 17-Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area refers to the coastline of Hsinchu City, stretching from Nanliao in the north to Nangang in the south, with a total length of approximately 17 kilometers. It is characterized by an emergence-dominated coastline, with thousands of hectares of intertidal zones, making it the largest coastal wetland in northern Taiwan, nurturing a rich variety of shrimp, crabs, and shellfish. The 17-Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area is planned to include eight major zones: Hsinchu Fishing Port recreational fishing boat dock, Seaside Park, Coastal Viewing Area, Gangnan Canal, Scenic Coast, Mangrove Park, Haishan Fishing Port Viewing Platform (which includes rest and dining activities), and the Bird Watching Area in Nangang. Beyond these, additional attractions have been planned, including a sailing sports park, Nanliao Leisure Old Port, Environmental Leisure Park, Hsinchu City Nursery, Coastal Park, Environmental Education Center, Gangnan Coastal Scenic Area, Jincheng Lake Bird Watching Area, Kejia Water Resource Treatment Center, Xiangshan Wetlands Nature Ecological Area, Nangang Crescent Sand Bay, Wind Power Plant, five characteristic bridges for bicycle paths, and the Blue Ocean Route from Nanliao Fishing Port to Haishan Fishing Port. These developments allow visitors to enjoy delicious food, beautiful scenery, recreation, sports, and cultural tours, making the 17-Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area a renowned leisure and tourist destination in Taiwan.
