Seventeen Kilometer Coast Scenic Area Introduction

The 17 Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area refers to the coastline of Hsinchu City, extending from Nanzhuang in the north to Nangang in the south, measuring approximately 17 kilometers long. It features a water-sediment coast and encompasses over a thousand hectares of intertidal zone, making it the largest coastal wetland in northern Taiwan, which is home to a large population of shrimp, crabs, and mollusks. The 17 Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area is planned to include eight major zones: the Hsinchu Fishing Port Recreational Fishing Boat Dock, Sea View Park, Sea Horizon Viewing Area, Gangnan Canal, Scenic Coast, Mangrove Park, Haishan Fishing Port Observation Deck (including rest and dining activities), and the Nangang Bird Watching Area. Additionally, it also plans to establish a Sailing Sports Park, Nanzhuang Leisure Old Port, Environmental Leisure Park, Hsinchu City Nursery, Sea View Park, Environmental Education Center, Gangnan Coastal Scenic Area, Jincheng Lake Bird Watching Area, Kejia Water Resource Treatment Center, Xiangshan Wetland Natural Ecological Area, Nangang Semi-Moon Sandy Bay, Wind Power Plant, five featured bridges along bicycle paths, and the Blue Sea Route from Nanzhuang Fishing Port to Haishan Fishing Port. These features allow visitors to enjoy culinary delights, beautiful scenery, recreation, sports, and cultural tours, making the 17 Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area a renowned tourist and recreational destination in Taiwan.
