17 Kilometer Coastal Scenic Area Introduction

The 17-kilometer Coastal Scenic Area refers to the coastline of Hsinchu City, stretching from Nanzhuang in the north to Nangang in the south, approximately 17 kilometers in length. It is classified as a water deposited coastline, with thousands of hectares of intertidal zones, making it the largest coastal wetland in northern Taiwan, nurturing a large population of shrimp, crabs, and shellfish. The 17-kilometer Coastal Scenic Area is planned to include eight major zones: Hsinchu Fishing Port Recreational Fishing Boat Dock, Seaside Park, Horizon Watching Area, Gangnan Canal, Coastal Boulevard, Mangrove Park, Haishan Fishing Port Viewing Platform (including leisure and dining activities), and Nangang Bird Watching Area. Additionally, it is planned to feature a sailing sports park, Nanzhuang Leisure Old Port, Eco-Recreational Park, Hsinchu City Nursery, Seaside Park, Environmental Education Center, Gangnan Coastal Scenic Area, Jincheng Lake Bird Watching Area, Keelung Water Resource Treatment Center, Xiangshan Wetland Natural Ecological Area, Nangang Half-Moon White Sand Bay, Wind Power Plant, five characteristic bridges on cycling paths, and the Blue Coast Route from Nanzhuang Fishing Port to Haishan Fishing Port. These attractions allow visitors to enjoy delicious food, beautiful scenery, recreation, sports, and cultural tours, making the 17-kilometer Coastal Scenic Area a renowned tourist and leisure destination in Taiwan.
