Guqi Mountain Cultural Museum Introduction
Guqi Peak Recreation Area is located on Gaofeng Road in the Gao Feng Li neighborhood of East Hsinchu City, about 2 kilometers from the city center. To the south, it neighbors Lingyin Temple and Qingshui Lake; to the east, Xian Gong Temple and National Tsing Hua University and National Chiao Tung University; to the north, it connects with Shibajian Mountain and Jieshou Park; and to the west, it overlooks the beautiful scenery of Xiangshan. Covering an area of approximately 15 hectares, it was listed as one of the "Twelve Scenic Spots of Zhujian" in 1987. Guqi Peak Recreation Area was established in 1967, featuring Chinese folk customs, and includes a folk culture museum, a folk amusement park, an exhibition hall for the Terracotta Army of the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum, a Western-style park, an exhibition hall for ancient Chinese war chariots, among others, making it a famous tourist attraction in Hsinchu. Among its highlights are temples and statues, with Pu Tian Temple being a prominent symbol of Guqi Peak. The Pu Tian Temple is the largest in Guqi Peak Recreation Area, featuring a 120-foot statue of Guan Sheng Di Jun. Uniquely, the statue is divided into nine levels, each offering a different spatial experience. In addition to Pu Tian Temple, Guqi Peak Recreation Area has also successively built the Buddha Hall, Chenghuang Temple, Tai Hall, Maitreya Buddha Store, Fude Jinbao Hall, and Zhensheng Niangniang Hall, which worship various deities including the Four-faced Buddha of Pu Tian, Guanyin, Fude Zheng Shen, Fu You Di Jun, Tai Sui Xing Jun, Zhensheng Niangniang, Maitreya Patriarch, Wuying General, and Yue Lao, making it a temple with a flourishing incense offering in Hsinchu City.
