Hsinchu State Library Introduction
In 1923, to commemorate the visit of Crown Prince Hirohito of Japan during the Taisho era, funds were raised to establish the "Hsinchu Street Library." After its completion in 1925, it was renamed the "Hsinchu Prefectural Library." It continued to be used as a library until it became private property of Shin Kong Life Insurance and is currently not open for public visits.
