Hsinchu Changhe Temple Introduction

This temple, established in 1742 in the northern section of Zhuqian, houses a statue of Matsu that was brought from the Meizhou Matsu Grand Temple. Due to its location outside the North Gate, it is also known as "Waimatsu." At that time, local merchants in the Zhuqian area chose this place as a meeting spot for convenience, making it a hub for merchant activities. After renovations in 1935, it was also called Changhe Temple. It currently enjoys a large number of devotees and is one of the centers of faith for the citizens.
