Hsinchu Zhanghe Temple Introduction
The Tianhou Temple was established in 1742 on the northern side of Zhukeng. Its deity was brought from the Meizhou Mazu Ancestral Temple, and it is also known as "Wai Mazu" due to its location outside the North Gate. At that time, the local merchants of the Zhukeng area chose this temple as a meeting place for convenience, making it a center for merchant activities. After renovations in 1935, it became known as Changhe Temple and currently has a large number of worshippers, serving as one of the faith centers for the citizens.
