Hsinchu Changhe Temple Introduction

Built in 1742 in the northern section of Zhuzhan, this Tianhou Temple enshrines an idol brought from the Meizhou Mazu ancestral temple, and it is also known as "Wai Mazu" due to its location outside the North Gate. At that time, the merchants in the Zhuzhan area used this as a meeting place for convenience, making it a hub for their activities. After renovations by the merchants in 1935, it was renamed Changhe Temple. Today, it has many devotees and is one of the centers of faith for the citizens.
