Originally the earliest thermal power plant in Chiayi City, it is also the first steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) structure in Chiayi City, completed in 1913. It was constructed with early applications of new building technology and is a rare example of a tall and spacious building. Currently, this historical building has been renovated and repurposed as a woodworking exhibition space.
