Gangping Sports Park Introduction
The whole family can enjoy extreme sports! The Gangping Sports Park, officially named "Municipal Sports Park," is also called Gangping Sports Park because it is located in Gangping Village. Since its establishment, it has been highly utilized. Covering an area of 85,000 square meters, it can accommodate 3,200 people. After renovation and planning, it now features tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, skating rinks, and children's playgrounds. New facilities include an extreme sports area, a parking lot with 120 parking spaces, a bocce court, and a croquet court. The newly constructed extreme sports area includes features such as a standing platform, sliding platform, ramps, half-pipe, stairs, and curves. One of the main highlights of the facility is the "extreme sports facilities," which were specifically commissioned by former Mayor Chen Lizhen to accommodate young people’s love for inline skating. However, to ensure safety and general accessibility, the difficulty of the sliding platform and curves has been set to an average level. During the construction process, overall safety was discussed and coordinated with architects to prevent the extreme sports facilities from being too professional or difficult, ensuring that they are suitable for general use and not just for elite athletes. The thoughtful design has made Gangping Sports Park a recommended place for inline skating in Taiwan.
