Gangping Sports Park Introduction
The entire family can engage in extreme sports! The Gangping Sports Park, officially named the "Municipal Sports Park," is located in Gangping Village, which is why it is commonly referred to as Gangping Sports Park. Since its establishment, it has been highly utilized, covering an area of 85,000 square meters and accommodating up to 3,200 people. After renovation and planning, it now features tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, skating rinks, children's playgrounds, and new facilities such as an extreme sports area, a parking lot with 120 spaces, a bocce court, and a croquet court. The newly built extreme sports area includes a standing platform, a sliding platform, ramps, a half-pipe, stairways, and curves. One of the main highlights is the extreme sports facilities, which were specially instructed for construction by former Mayor Chen Licheng to meet the interests of young people in inline skating. However, for safety and accessibility, the sliding platforms and curves are built to standard difficulty levels. Throughout the construction process, discussions and coordination with architects were conducted to ensure the overall safety of the new extreme sports facilities, avoiding overly specialized or difficult designs that may only serve elite athletes. All facilities are designed with general and low difficulty levels in mind, making Gangping Sports Park a suitable place for inline skating enthusiasts across Taiwan.
