Gangping Sports Park Introduction
The whole family can enjoy extreme sports! The Gangping Sports Park, officially known as the "Municipal Sports Park," is commonly referred to as Gangping Sports Park as it is located in Gangping Village. Since its establishment, its high usage rate has been noted. Covering an area of 85,000 square meters, it can accommodate up to 3,200 people. After renovation and planning, new facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, skating rinks, and children's playgrounds have been added. New facilities include an extreme sports area, a parking lot with 120 spaces, a wooden ball court, and a croquet court. The newly constructed extreme sports facilities feature a standing platform, a skating platform, ramps, a half-pipe, stairs, and curves. A notable feature of these facilities is the "extreme sports setup," specifically designed for young people's interest in inline skating, which was specially requested by former mayor Chen Li-Zhen. However, to ensure safety and accessibility, the skating platform and curves are designed to ordinary difficulty levels. Throughout the construction process, overall safety was discussed and coordinated with architects, ensuring that the new extreme sports facilities are not overly professional or difficult so that they can be used by more than just a small number of elite athletes. All facilities focus on being accessible and of low difficulty, making Gangping Sports Park a recommended destination for inline skating in Taiwan.
