Gangping Sports Park Introduction
The whole family can enjoy extreme sports! The Gangping Sports Park, officially named the "City Sports Park," is located in Gangping Village, which is why it is also called Gangping Sports Park. Since its establishment, it has seen high usage rates, covering an area of 85,000 square meters and accommodating up to 3,200 people. After renovations and planning, it now includes facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, skating rinks, and children's playgrounds. The newly built facilities include an extreme sports area, a parking lot with 120 spaces, lawn bowling grounds, and croquet courts. The extreme sports area features facilities such as a standing platform, sliding platform, ramps, half-pipe, stairway, and curved paths. A notable aspect of the facilities is the "extreme sports facilities," which were specially instructed by former mayor Chen Li-Cheng to cater to young people who enjoy inline skating. However, for safety and accessibility reasons, the sliding platforms, curved paths, and other facilities are designed to be of moderate difficulty. Throughout the construction process, safety considerations were coordinated and discussed with architects to ensure that the new extreme sports facilities would not be overly professional or difficult, so that they would be usable by more than just a handful of elite athletes. All facilities are primarily designed to be accessible and of lower difficulty, making Gangping Sports Park a suitable destination for inline skating enthusiasts across Taiwan.
