Gangping Sports Park Introduction
The whole family can enjoy extreme sports! Hongping Sports Park, officially known as "Municipal Sports Park," is also referred to as Hongping Sports Park due to its location in Hongping Village. Since its establishment, the park has had a high usage rate, covering an area of 85,000 square meters and accommodating up to 3,200 people. After renovation and planning, it now features tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, a skating rink, and a children's playground. New facilities include an extreme sports area, a parking lot with 120 spaces, a bocce court, and a croquet court. The new extreme sports venue includes features such as a standing platform, a sliding platform, ramps, a semi-circular ramp, stairways, and curves. One major feature is the "extreme sports facility," which was specially requested to cater to the interests of young people in roller skating by former mayor Chen Li-chen. However, to ensure safety and general accessibility, the sliding platform, curves, and other features are designed to standard difficulty levels. Throughout the construction process, discussions and coordination with architects focused on overall safety, ensuring that the new extreme sports facilities are not too professional or excessively challenging, so they can be used by more than just elite athletes. All facilities are aimed at general and lower difficulty levels, making Hongping Sports Park a suitable place for roller skating in Taiwan.
