KANO Park Introduction
KANO Park in Chiayi City, completed in August 2017, allows everyone to revisit the proud baseball history of Chiayi City. Highlights include an outdoor theater for music performances opposite the Family Education Center and a baseball sculpture area featuring bronze bats and glove seats. The ground is inlaid with stone plates that contain lines from the movie "KANO." For example, "The papaya tree with no retreat will bear rich fruit," and "There is no shortcut to playing baseball, only hard practice." The "Baseball Century Avenue," which is 40 meters wide and 180 meters long, used to be the main pathway for the Chiayi Agricultural Senior High School baseball team to the stadium. Both the stone plates on the ground and the adjacent baseball Hall of Fame carefully present the history of the Chiayi Agricultural baseball team, introducing the 16 players who reached the runners-up position in the Koshien Tournament. Don't miss the KANO landmark ball, which weighs 4 tons and has a diameter of 5 meters, made of aluminum alloy and embedded with over 120 hollow rings. It shines in the sunlight during the day and offers a colorful light show at night, each presenting a different charm. It's also a great spot for creative photography, whether holding the ball or posing with it in a playful manner; you can capture unique angles from various positions!
