KANO Park Introduction
The KANO Park in Chiayi City, completed in August 2017, allows everyone to rediscover the proud baseball history of Chiayi City. Features include an outdoor theater located across from the Family Education Center and a baseball sculpture area featuring bronze bats and glove seats. The ground is inlaid with stone slabs that, upon closer inspection, reveal lines from the film "KANO." For instance, "The papaya tree without a retreat will surely bear sweet fruit," and "There are no shortcuts to playing baseball well, only hard practice." The "Baseball Century Avenue," which is 40 meters wide and 180 meters long, was once the essential path taken by the Chiayi Agricultural High School baseball team to the stadium. Both the slabs on the ground and the baseball Hall of Fame wall nearby thoughtfully showcase the history of the Chiayi Agricultural baseball team, introducing the 16 players who helped the team reach the finals of the Koshien in their prime. Of course, one cannot miss the KANO landscape ball, weighing 4 tons and with a diameter of 5 meters, made of aluminum alloy, embedded with over 120 hollow rings. It sparkles in the sunlight during the day and presents a colorful light show at night, each with its own allure.
