KANO Park Introduction
KANO Park in Chiayi City, completed in August 2017, allows everyone to revisit the proud baseball history of Chiayi City. There is an outdoor theater for musical performances opposite the Family Education Center, along with a baseball sculpture area featuring bronze bats and glove seats. The ground is embedded with stone slabs that, upon closer inspection, reveal lines from the movie "KANO." For example, "The papaya tree with no way back will definitely bear sweet fruit" and "There is no shortcut to playing baseball well; only hard practice." The "Baseball Century Avenue," measuring 40 meters in width and 180 meters in length, was the route that the Chiayi Agricultural University's baseball team took to the stadium. Both the stone slabs on the ground and the baseball hall of fame alongside carefully present the history of the Chiayi Agricultural University baseball team, introducing the 16 players who helped the team reach the finals of the 1931 Koshien tournament. Of course, one must not miss the 4-ton, 5-meter diameter KANO landscape ball made of aluminum alloy, embedded with over 120 hollow rings. In the daytime, it sparkles in the sunlight, while at night, it showcases a colorful light show, each with its own charm. It's also a great spot for creative perspective photography! Whether you want to hold the ball in your hand or strike a quirky pose, you can capture creativity from various angles!
